Zaarin posted at 12:34 PM Mon, 17 April 2023 - #4462475True. I just haven't bothered to do it. :DThat does look pretty good. Correct me if I'm wrong, but after you parented the eyes to La Femme's eyes, couldn't you simply save a copy and have the eyes already installed and parented when you loaded La Femme2Eyes.cr2?Thalek posted at 9:56 AM Mon, 17 April 2023 - #4462460

You'll need to fiddle around in Blender to export the pupil dilation morph, but otherwise it plays nicely in Poser. I have PrincipledBSDF shaders on the sclera, iris, and "wet surface," with a Glass shader on the cornea, which properly bends the light into the iris (which, of course, is its purpose IRL). The latter requires rendering with refracting caustics or it will render too dark, but it looks great in practice.Any particular model? So, you hid the default eyes and put the replacements in? The eyes have separate controls? All Poser figures have awful eyes, as far as I can tell. That's why I invested in an anatomically correct eye model on CGTrader, which you can see in my render above. Superfly has really emphasized the flaws in the existing figures' eyes.
Yeah, I have the default eyes hidden, with the new eye parented to them so they inherit the moves of the original eyes. I have to manually place the eye each time I use it (someone better than me at these things could probably script it, but...), but I like the results. It's probably higher poly than the original eye part, but I don't find it kills performance. Long term I'd like to convert some of my existing eye textures for Caraesarpro's eye, but for the moment I've been using high-res iris textures by Carel5103 (also at CGTrader).

Just taking Poser 13 for a spin. Full credits in my gallery. First image is using the new post effects options (a little bloom and some denoising); the second is raw.
Thread: Are you impressed with Poser 13 ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When I saw the feature list, I was not impressed. In fact, I was skeptical. After trying it, I'm in awe. It renders insanely faster, and the renders look so much better--and I haven't even started tweaking my materials to suit the changes to the updated Cycles. I really think the promotional materials are underselling Poser 13.

That kilt is so simple that resizing it for other figures should be super easy, too, even for someone new to Poser.

The Ishtar outfit for V4 by Lady Littlefox, which used to be at RuntimeDNA and is at Daz now, I guess, did this: conforming outfit with a dynamic skirt and overskirt. I think some of Arki's outfits did, too, if memory serves.

Yeah, I think it's been around three years. I lost my files, and that made me lose interest in Poser for a while. I'm trying to reassemble what I can for a picture that I can't get out of my head without rendering it...without throwing too much money at Poser again.Zaarin posted at 6:36 PM Thu, 15 September 2022 - #4444548
(As an aside, I just came back after being away several years, and I've been really shocked and saddened at how stagnant the Poser industry seems to have been. Was also surprised to see Hivewire3D gone as a store, leaving just "the Big Two" of Rendo and Daz.
Hey Zaarin, I was surprised to see you on the forums lately, as it's been quite a while. Good to see you're still around as well.(As a second aside, hi, Miss B! Nice to see you're still around. :) )
As far as the HiveWire3D store being gone, it's not, it's just moved here to Renderosity, and I'd say 95% of the CAs/vendors who didn't already have stores here at Renderosity, have also moved their stores here as well. It was just getting difficult to run the store with a 4 person team, and then we lost one of the members of the team the beginning of last year, which made it that much more difficult. The forum is still up and running, and a new version of Dawn is in the making, so keep an eye out for her.
That's good to hear about Hivewire3D; it sounds like the move to Renderosity was a lot less traumatic than when RuntimeDNA closed down. I was really sorry to hear about Lisa. She was always so nice to work with when I was a vendor at HW3D.

Because no one has yet made a figure for Poser whose morphs are as versatile as Gen4's for those of us who lack the talent to do custom morphs in zBrush. V4/M4 are blank slates; Dawn, Dusk, La Femme, L'Homme--all of them are inevitably recognizable as their base figure. La Femme and L'Homme seem to be more versatile than Dawn and Dusk, but I can still instantly recognize them 99% of the time. (I'd love an alternative to Kids 4, though. K4's rigging is garbage, and I'd welcome even a less versatile alternative. Anyone happen to know if anyone has made a Diva-equivalent/kid version of La Femme or L'Homme?)

Was also surprised to see Hivewire3D gone as a store, leaving just "the Big Two" of Rendo and Daz. La Femme and L'Homme seem like great figures--I'm very impressed by their rigging--but they just don't have Gen4's support, particularly in the morph and character department, and particularly for L'Homme.)

Thread: Bagginsbill Shaders | Forum: Poser 12
Thank you! I've been out of the Poserverse for quite a while so I may be misremembering. I think I may actually have used the BBEye's cornea over the standard Gen4 eye mesh, whose cornea/eye surface is all kinds of messed up, which becomes more apparent when using realistic shaders."* BBEye with M4/V4. I can find no trace. The Wayback Machine has the page but not the .ZIP file, as usual."
https://web.archive.org/web/20201020033504/https://sites.google.com/site/bagginsbill/free-stuff
The BB freestuff archive on the Wayback machine.
Select the freebie you want to download from the list and once on it's page click the little download arrow. There will be a brief redirect, which might seem like a dead end, and the download will begin. Just tested and working.
I'm pretty certain the BBEye was only fit and mapped to Antonia. I've never seen or heard of it existing for daz gen 4. It was created for Antonia. I might be wrong here though... just odd that I've never seen or heard of that version. The one linked in BB's freebies is for Antonia.
You can download his original environment sphere from the Freestuff page also. Download working...
Thread: Bagginsbill Shaders | Forum: Poser 12
Thank you! The dispersion shader I was looking for was a trick Bagginsbill used to simulate the fire in gemstones. I remember he posted it back on the old Smith Micro forums. But I can live without it. Thank you for the rest! And yes, ghostship2's PBR shader is the one I was looking for, but if P12 has its own that should be fine.* Dispersion Shader. I can find no trace. But this "existing texture diffusion" method may perhaps be a replacement.
* BBEye with M4/V4. I can find no trace. The Wayback Machine has the page but not the .ZIP file, as usual.
* "Sky Sphere". Possibly his "Envirosphere"? But you may be thinking of "EZDome" by Snarlygribbly? That's now here for Poser 11 and 12, and I'm fairly sure it has superseded the old "Envirosphere"? But of course you may need the "Envirosphere" installed to open old scene files - but I don't immediately see it online anywhere. I never installed it in my runtime, according to a search, but someone may have it.
* Not sure about the "Universal PBR". But possibly you may be thinking of the free "Poser 11 Super PBR Shader by ghostship2". It's here at Renderosity. Note also that Poser 12 also ships with an official PBR demo in the runtime.
Also possibly useful for ongoing P12 workflow building, a current list of selected Poser 12 free scripts and related P12.
