Thread: Dynamic cloth - the cloth room For Compleat Dummies | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - "... I left the additional cloth collisions to the default" - then, is there some typo in the last two parameters? Air damping 0.2 is for wind tight jackets or so, and Dynamic friction 0.02 is for lubricated teflon or alike :)
No, I'm talking about --under "simulation settings"-- there is the "additional cloth collision options", like "Object vertex against cloth polygons", etc. I left that to their default.

> Quote - So... simple request: Has anyone here managed successfully to use dynamic clothing on a figure doing something like sitting on a chair? If so, can you post pictures and discuss the settings and technique you used?I made an animation of V4 trown on a sofa using Poser psysics. She's wearing dynamic clothing. To keep the lower part of the dress from folding on itself, I created a separate dynamic group to which I assigned more fold resistance and less shear and stretch resistance.
UPPER PART LOWER PART
Fold resistance 5 50
Shear resistance 50 15
Stretch resistance 50 15
Stretch damping .1 .1
Cloth density .05 .05
Self-friction 0 0
Static friction .5 .5
Dynamic friction .1 .02
Air damping .02 .2
I left the additional cloth collisions to the default.
I think LaurieA is right. To be proficient in he cloth room, you have to be persistent. Keep practicing until you master it.
Thread: What is the future of dynamic clothing in Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I loooove Poser cloth room. I never have any problems with it. Some say it doesn't have as many bells and whistles as top high-end apps but, as of now, it serves my purposes and never gives me a headache. It just gives me beautifully draped clothes EVERY TIME.
Thread: Is there a way to use V3 Expression poses on V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The new Animate2 plug-in for Daz Studio has a feature called "Retarget pose", which can retarget any figure to any other figure, not only poses but whole animations too! Wish Poser had the same....

I am happy to announce that, with a collision offset of .8, I have no poketrough anymore.

Quote - So how DID you apply that morph?
I'm doing animation so I apply the morphs before I do the simulation.

Quote - Hm. What exactly do you have of problems? Believe me, I posed and rendered those clothes quite a lot of times, and never had any pokethru. So I'm really curious as to how you get it and why. I'm assuming you're referring to the free jeans-and-shirt set I made?
Yes, I'm referring to the free jeans-and-shirt set., but I also had poke through problems with other designer's clothes as well, So I don't think your clothes are the problem, although the V4 pajamas that you designed gave me a hard time adjusting them because of the bell bottoms. I had to make elaborate soft-decorated groups to try to control them; they were flying all over the place. But it's all under control now.

Here's the wireframe pic. I'm not sure if that's you wanted.

Here is M4 with morphs (I shortened his legs) walking. BTW, I like your V4 dynamic clothes the best because you provide many variations of designs, and lots of textures.

Yes, Grappo, it was made for M4. But I often use cloth made for other figures and they work for V4. Dynamic cloth is very handy that way.
Thanks, Fugazi, I'll try that! I liked your videos on dynamic cloth on Youtube. They tought me things.
Thread: Where could we find more dynamic cloth for M3/M4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There are a couple on the DAZ site.

They are made for Daz Studio. It uses a propreitary system made by Optitex, but some users have found sucess using them in Poser after importing them as OBJ files.

Thread: poserspeak and Poser 8, does it work | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Not sure .. but I had a question. What would PoserSpeak offer in addition to the Talk Designer lip sync stuff that is already found in Poser 8?
As I understand it, with Poserspeak, you don't need to record voices; you buy pre-recorded voices; you only have to type the text, and Poserspeak does it all for you.
