everyone has given really good suggestions, however I didnt see this one... when doing large scenes, its a really good idea to change display for complex meshes to "box" display. This will significantly speed screen redraw. If you can change the poser figures to box display..any imports to box display..and stones...and any other object that has lotsa polygons, then you will see a quicker redraw... merging scenes is the best way to get a quick placement...you just put em all together in the end... and that suggestion about autokey...sounds very feasible! Id never thought about it, but Im gonna test it ASAP to see if that does indeed produce a quicker redraw. Flickerstreak, that was a great suggestion! BT http://www.brycetech.com/
Thread: Who would I call "master"? | Forum: Carrara

Thread: Simple question | Forum: Carrara
thanx for the reply clint the first 2 things you mentioned come with rds5.5..so Ill skip them the crashing thing..lol..rds does love to do that huh? I have a memory manager that is wonderful for Bryce..it cant do crap for rds..things still lock up if you dont shut it down (and I do have the patches) I forgot, does carrara have the four window modeller? I think it did, and that would most definately be a great improvement. how about camera memory options? you can of course save camera settings...is it easier in carrara than raydream? thanx BT

select the object go to the preset material and apply "green lit" once back in material lab, change the colors to white instead of green when back in scene, put a radial light at the top of the bolt of lightning... the attached scene was done this way... if you look at your image you can quickly see the problematic areas...for instance..the shirt has no shadows. This is a function of "ambience" in the material lab...go in there and turn that silly thing off! also, if you still dont get some shadows..you can try to apply a very small amount of bump to the image. see this page: http://www.brycetech.com/tutor/bryce/brycealive2aptex2.html scroll down the the "green" part of the table in addition, there would be an option to create a more "shiny" effect to the material if you also use the bump channel as to drive the specularity of the material. luck BTThread: Somewhat new to Bryce... | Forum: Bryce
