Thread: KB3132372 Microsoft upload and Adobe Flash | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think, only PP2014 can run with AIR and external library. I guess Windows 10 doesn't let you uninstall/disable the update (KB3132372 )? In this case you should contact SM support.

The _cool _way to do these website thingies is to adjust the coding to the needs, not the other way round :D

I hope everyone will please try to understand that the Galleries at Renderosity are FREE. The split that Renderosity gets from our vendors (who choose to broker through us) is what keeps the Galleries free. So, showing our vendors' banners in the Galleries (and other places on the site) is how we try to make sure that the vendors' are being supported in return. Without our vendors, the FREE parts of our Renderosity community would not exist.
so - LG is a vendor here? wonder what they sell. 3D monitor models maybe? I'm completely OK with banners from people on this site, but I'm not with ads from totally unrelated companies.

Well... I'm OK with Renderosity internal links (although they could be a little less obtrusive in a gallery environment)
I'm not sure about external links, though. No, I'm totally not.

I have my samples set as low as 20 when I'm messing around in Cycles, grainy, but it stops my fans from spinning-up too much and keeps the cards cool :-D
BTW, what is it, Cycles or Octane?
this was done in Octane. it's a GPU optimized renderer (can't even use CPU) but not really limited in what it can do :)

Hmmm, looks like photorealistic rendering has become childs play if you can get results like that in 10 seconds. Now I understand BB's comment about better software in relation to challenge. Yawn.
well, in this case it took me some minutes to set up the shader. rendering was quick then, though :D
Usually, in my images I spend a good deal of time in optimizing the materials. It is amazing what you can get out of simple textures once you know what you're doing.
And my usual render times ain't 10 seconds either :D
more from 10min to 1.5 hours

with GPU after 10sec (yup, ten seconds render time, it's a not too demanding object)
artifacts are because of image compression. this 100 samples, I let it run to 1000 (1:37 min) but that didn't change muchin quality

Quote: The GPU render doesn't support the full feature set the CPU render does. If we implement GPU support we end up limiting capabilities of the render. Things like limiting the number of texture maps in the scene. I'm with you on speed. I just don't want to sacrifice quality to get there.
there are no differences in GPU and CPU shader nodes, that simply would not make sense.
limiting factors for GPU (NVIDIA) renderings are:
no smoke/fire
SSS - still experimental
no open shading language
CMJ sampling - still experimental
displacment/subdivision - still experimental
and, of course, the limitations in texture maps (size and count) depending on the card you use.

about bloody time , good news indeed ,since this engine is based on cycles , so iam assuming its gpu powered ?

truth is, GPU rendering is hardware challenging. If you don't have at least 2GB GPU RAM you will probably run into problems with lager scenes. but even then there are ways around it (like not using ridiculous 4K textures when you're only rendering at 2K) Octane for example comes with a script that lets you reduce the size on any textures in the scene. to disclaim an option just for some limiting factors is not a good choice, considering you still can fall back to CPU or even Firefly.

yeah - I think that sneak peek didn't went too well. :D
I use Poser since 13 years, and I solved the render problem with it years ago, first with Vue, now with Octane. and I bet a lot of the long time users have found and settled their workflow too. it's nice to have a (free) PBR engine in Poser, but that's no priority.
give it a better handling.
tune the things it already has - cloth room, hair room, hierarchy editor, view port etc
tune the performance
get rid of unsecure third party software components (Adobe!)
content is king? well, 2014 came with 1.2 gig of content, and I'm sure you put 500 megs more on top of it - probably as useful as the rest, like my experience of the last updates lets me expect.
to be honest, Posers updates brought more or less good new ideas, but the implementation usually wasn't what I would expect from a - not too cheap - software.
I'll wait, what else gets announced, but I'm not holding my breath for updating for now.
in the meanwhile, have some wine with high octane - err - oechsle :)
