I retract the whinges. It's all come together and the new interface is really good. Much quicker figure setup than in P7.

Oh dear. I saw this and thought, well it's about time I moved on from vers 7. It's only a secondary app but it needs updating now and then.
Not a good move. The libraries no longer work and demand all sorts of buggy extras that I don't want near my system. SM not being, how to put it politely, the user friendliest company I doubt they do refunds.

I've managed to buy and download a couple of things. All went smoothly. The only negative was that the order confirmation email never arrived.
I mailed 'DAZ-Ann' as she asked for any feedback when sorting out my access problem. They are finding it very useful to identify people with problems so that they can look for things that are in common.

I mailed her and it worked fine for me. Very helpful.**

**There is something up with the mailings though. No order confirmation arrived. I set my mail to send everything with no filtering, so it may not be a spam filter doing the dissapearing.

All fixed now. It looks like the reset mails were tumbling into a black hole. Spam filters can get a bit excitable sometimes.

Hi Cho,
I've cleaned everything out, including all cookies. The problem started when the new site decided my password was too short and refused to let me in. I should be able to reset the password but the reset mail is not coming through.
I'm going through, adjusting filter settings on the mail account in case the reset mail is being mistaken for spam - I've had that before trying to register two different forums. As a back up I've created a new email address to register again and take things from there.

Looks like the site is back now, but I'm still locked out. If they don't reply soon maybe I should create a new account and try to get help from there.

I'm locked out of the Daz site completely. It won't accept my password and the reset password mail never arrives. The 'contact' button just gets a 404 page so I've sent a message to Daz tech at the address they had before. Now hoping that works.
I know that changes are hard work. I have to manage such things on a site myself and there's plent of fire-fighting. However, unable to log in I'm completely in the dark.

Very strange behaviour. I can get to my account if I start from my wishlist but not directly. No galleries if logged in but curiously I did manage to upload something - start logged out, log in and the go back to galleries.
They do need somebody on this permanently.

Sorry to hear that we've lost all your beautiful textures but I understand about work pressures. One job is enough for anybody.
Take care,

Thread: Question about applying objects onto objects.. | Forum: Vue
My current guess is that it's something to do with how they act with surfaces - being half-in and half-out rather than perpendicular like trees and general objects. But that's only a guess :)

Thread: Question about applying objects onto objects.. | Forum: Vue
The only things that appear to work from scratch painted on all sides are rocks. This may be because they have a pre-set to be sunk part-way into a surface. The middle cube has rocks painted onto several sides.
With a glass base you can see that the plants on the right hand cube grow on the base (the original top) and the ones painted on the bottom, grow inside. The rocks appear above and below the surfaces.
Other objects seem to behave like plants, vertical in the direction Vue has decided is up. So those painted on the bottom, grow within the cube - the houses on the lefthand cube. Tried to add some objects on one of the narrow sides but they still came out perpendicular to the original base. So I made them Perpedicular rather than Vertical to the surface (slider in Scaling and Orientation tab). They came out upon that surface (top of left cube in picture).
Definite possibilities for surrealism though.
