Also the Content Paradise is back and much better. Is CL/EF/Whatever still forcing people to join Content Paradise to get the P6 figure updates? Or does the currently sold version have the figures fixed already?

Although one should note that the official position now is that the "memory bug" didn't exist -- but rather that P6 sometimes gave out-of-memory errors when it shouldn't have. What a relief! 8-|
Thread: So mad about Poser 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Actually, P6 served it's purpose quite well: Provided CL an influx of $$$. As long as they have customers willing to buy them unseen and untested, they'll keep releasing unfinished products.

Here's the announcement from the 3rd saying it should be ready in "the next week or so."Thread: Curious Labs - Please Note! ... Multiple UNDO for Poser ... sign up here. ... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes, that alone would have made the P6 upgrade price worth it. (Assuming of course, they can impliment it without introducing more bugs.)
Thread: What would it take to make Poser a "Professional" application? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Better rigging, soft and rigid body dynamics, more graceful interface, more stability. It's probably good enough for "proffessional" stills right now, but not even close for animation.

Haaaaahahahahahahah, be careful, dont give them ideas ... their work is slow because when it finish, bye bye to the good 12 year old Scotch. They would say to the Big Boss: "hey, man, we think that is a good idea to include in the SR1 the 'make art' buttom!!!" You're assuming there won't be an SR2. Let SR1 out for a few daze, and if history is any indication there will be plenty of things to address with SR2.

Why don't we just get it all over with and ban everything in the gallery save the Poser Woody? I thought "woodys" weren't allowed either. >:)

living on coffee, Twinkies, and 12 year old Scotch That would explain a lot... Maybe they deserve some fresh scotch? ;) I don't care if they're smokin' crack Crack's reserved for the marketing department and the "genious" that decided to put the figure updater on CP... Thanks for the info, Steve!

5] last but not least Jessie's Poser 6 Genitalia cannot be manipulated at all!!! Poor thing! So she only needs a "frustrated" facial expression?

On the memory bug, do we know if it's CLs programming, or firefly? Didn't CL license firefly from someone else? Might they have to wait for them to fix it?
Thread: OT: well kind of....... DAZ Staf suggests dropping Poser 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Daz Studio is a bit of a mixed blessing. On the one hand, agree it would be great if Daz would just focus on what they do best (content,) CL focused only the programming, and they worked together. That would definately be better for the community in the short term. On the other hand, competition is a good thing. For too long, CL's held a virtual monopoly on low-priced, easy to use character animation software. If DS becomes real competition, we may see better performance and customer support from both companies.

Hmm..sounds like the usual startup 'gamma tester' bug fixes that need to happen before i'd consider it.. We should all be used to that. ;) It'll be interesting to see how DAZ Studio/Brice pans out. Gotta admit, I've been pissed at CL before, but have yet to be dissapointed by DAZ.

*yp6: Weren't you the one that was returning Poser 6?* Haven't yet... Still have time to return it, and still curious about SR1 (when, if, and what.) Have to admit, another couple of (hi rez) characters that could use the face room would be great. *It sounds like you have XSI. I'm wondering what is stripped out in order to make it a lower price? Does it have cloth and hair? Does it have advanced lighting?* Downloaded the demo version, and will buy it once tax-return arrives. ;) There's a version comparison at the link. The biggest things "Foundation" leaves out from my perspective is rigid-body dynamics and hair. It still has soft-body dynamics, much superior rigging, cloth, "mental ray" rendering, IBL, particles, fluids, and quite a few other features that I don't have the ability to correctly describe. They do use different terms for similar functions in poser. I'd strongly suggest anyone interested download the trial. Free time is at a premium right now, so haven't had nearly as much time to "play" as I'd like...Thread: Content Paradise - great customer help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You you tried, for example, creating a walk cycle in XSI? Well, strap on your helmet ;)) Not yet. No doubt it's more challenging to use than poser, it's made for a lot more than just animating pre-made models. Having fun so far though. Just playing with the character rigging shows a heckuva lot more potential though. IMHO, rigging is by far and away Poser's biggest weakness.
