It is sad that lives get destroyed from these natural tragedies, but like most things in life there is usually some positive aspect hiding somehwere. Even though they are foreboding photos, I can't help but admire the power they hold in them. They are truly beautiful in their own way. Thanx for sharing them :)
Thread: Food for thought on color 2 bw conversion | Forum: Photography
If anyone can point me in the right direction for reading up on this topic I would truly appreciate it. I never realised there was a difference of quality by shooting in one version or the other. I just shoot in b/w when I want that effect. I am going to have to do some experimenting now. @zhounder, thanx for the technique. I use Photoimpact 8 and have tried something similar. I also have Photoshop 7; now I will try your technique and see if I can notice a difference between the two techniques :)

Love the side note about "being too bright to go any slower". Being so new to photography and not applying any thought process of my own, I copied down one persons technique for getting the so called "angel hair" effect. I hiked up to some falls and filled my cards having used only the one setting I wrote down. I got home only to discover the majority of my photos were all long lines of white blur. The thing is, it did not seem bright to me that day as it was raining on and off. The waterfall was much more exposed to the sky than I was though, for I was tucked up in the trees getting muddy and dripped on. The things we do to get the perfect photo. Needless to say I have learned to experiment more with my settings and not follow advise so easily without more logical thinking on my part :)

The vibrant colors are a great contrast against what looks to be a very pale blue wall. Great idea and good eye :)

Definitely repetition happening there. Nice photo! Makes me imagine tiny little world thriving under all those plants :)

If my torso still looked like that, I'd want to show it off, too! All three are great photo's. I favor #2 & #3, though. I'm much too new to all of this to give you any pointers...not sure you need any though :)

I like the pop-up window and how it fills my screen as I get to focus on the art itself. I did find myself wanting a tiny, inconspicuous 'next button' to view them consecutively while in the larger format. Those are excellent photos, so I knew I wanted to see them all and got a little bothered by having to go back to pick the next photo each time. That is just MHO :)
Thread: *POLL* Important * Please Read!!!! | Forum: Photography
I agree with his points, he definitely seems to have thought it all out very well. The polls seemed to be leaning towards 7 a week when I had voted yesterday. I don't recall reading when the changes will be made if any are to be made. I suppose you would have the answer to that Michelle.

I'm quite fond of it myself but have soooo much to learn. Why would you wanna be cured, aren't you having fun? You must remember to sleep, eat and bathe, though ;)
