This is probably one of the worst colour schemes I've seen on a professionally-design website. Why did you get rid of the colour options we used to have? Bringing that back would solve 99% of the complaints people have about the new setup.
Thread: New Renderosity Logos Coming sneak peak! | Forum: Community Center
I use the custome colour settings, mainly because I hated the Renderosity colour scheme when I signed up, but I still use and much prefer and black background for the galleries. Dark backgrounds do display images better. Hell, if I had my choice, I'd force people to turn off all the lights in the room when viewing my images too!
So, my question is this - If DARK images benefit from a darker background then do LIGHTER (or HAPPIER, whichever) images benefit from a lighter background? And, if this is the case - what is the happy medium for all of the images?
It would take a little more work, but why not add another set of check boxes to the image upload sceen. You have a check box for violence, nudity, comments and ratings, why not add one for "display on black background" and "display on white background"?

Thread: The ability to delete comments | Forum: Community Center
A suggestion about deletion of comments. On a site I help manage, we have a "user-moderated" forum, meaning there is a little link on every post called "report." If a user finds a forum post he feels objectionable, he clicks report, fills in a little text box explaining why he feels the post should be deleted, then the moderator decides whether the reason is valid. This kind of a system could work for deleting comments without having people abuse it by deleting anything that doesn't kiss their ass.

I have absolutely no idea how well it would do in the marketplace, but I do know that I'M interested. This looks fantastic.

Thread: Winner of the Logo contests. | Forum: Community Center
Wait a minute... according to the voting results you can access from the contest page, the one displayed on the main page was NOT the winner. How exactly do these things work?
Thread: Special Reminder | Forum: Community Center
"Renderosity is a politically neutral community." If that's the case, then why have so many images that have vaguely (and sometimes flagrant) anti-USA themes been deleted, but anti-French images/rants, like the one below, remain? http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=354987
Thread: Using Freestuff as a Political Soapbox | Forum: Community Center
April, I don't think anyone would really object to textures with peace signs on them -- the difference is people wear t-shirts with peace signs all the time, impending war or not. Plus, it's just like saying "I disagree with the war" as opposed to actually insulting a group and labeling them as traitors for their beliefs.

Thread: is poser a professional tool ? | Forum: Poser Technical
"it's not the tools that make the art...it essentialy is the artist..." I agree for the most part, but do you really think Michaelangelo could have done as a nice a job with the Sistine Chapel if he had to use a paint roller instead of an army of brushes? From my perspective, there are two major reasons why Poser is not considered a professional-level program. And yes, I have used it. 1. The Poser render engine -- even the new FireFly engine -- is poor. Honestly, the only programs I've ever worked with that had less-powerful renderers have been free ones. 2. Poser is not a self-contained application unless all you want to do is use stock clothing, stock figures and stock morphs. If you want new props, you need to create them in another program. If you want clothing, you have to create it in another program. If you want new morphs... well, you get the idea. The only advantage is that Poser comes with already-modeled figures, but companies that deal with 3D a great buy dozens of CDs of content, including human figures, to use it programs like 3D Studio Max and Lightwave, programs where you can do everything you need to RIGHT THERE. Poser is TOO specialized to make it a truly useful tool for most professionals -- it has a very narrow purpose and very limited options in terms of expanding it's useage.

DAZ has a set of UVS files on the V3 page that will convert V1/2 textures for use with V3 and vice versa.

*Question:Is box modeling suppose to be easier than patch??*It really depends what you're doing. For simple props and mechanical modeling, I find box modeling easier, but for organic modeling, patches are far easier.
