As Mightypete says, it looks good now, but if anything, the sink looks way to low. You're either goin' to do the dishes sitting down in that chair or you'll get a real bad back real soon. Very good image though.
Thread: * * * GREAT NEWS * * * | Forum: Vue
This is good news, at least I think so. I know the Vue forum may not be the best place to ask, but from a Vue perspective whats the advantage of upgrading from Poser4 to Poser5? I notice that the hair room and cloth simulation is not implemented in this update and those are the things that all the poser bods were shouting about when 5 was released. So as someone who uses Poser in loads of Vue work, is this the time to upgrade?

Cheers again, I've now got plenty of info to be making a decision, still not sure which way to go though, but I'll be sorting it over the next few days.

Cheers Pete & Dale for the quick response, Id not heard of them before and after just taking a quick peek at the site, 25USD doesnt seem too bad. The only thing thats now holding me back is that Ive been told that Win98 can only support <1gb mem. Is this right? Ive only got 512mb in at the moment but Ive got another 512mb on order. If this is the case it looks like Ill have to put XP on the box and wait for the new Xplite version to be released. Oh decisions, decisions

Thread: April challenge - THE WINNER IS | Forum: Vue
Im speechless, or should that be typeless? I really am, Im writing this offline on a laptop as the desktops rendering at the mo so Ive the whole white screen of MS Word in front of me, and I cant find the words to express my utter surprise and feeling of humbleness at winning this monthly challenge. If youll all excuse what may turn out to be a lengthy post, Ill try to put some words to my feelings. I came to Vue from Poser, as I suppose quite a few of you did, mainly it has to be said for the massively improved render sizes I could get. It was only then that I found just how incredible a program it was, and when I saw some of the works of the people in and around this forum in the various galleries and competitions I was hooked. I wanted to be able to do the types of scenes and artwork that we all know Vue to be capable of, and so I set out hunting, downloading and reading all the tutorials I could find so I could learn the skills that you all possess. I learnt about Alpha planes and vegetation, applying textures and different lighting, and all manner of other (at times strange and weird) stuff, all from the folks in and around this forum. So it is, as I said, a kind of humbleness that experiencing right now. The knowledge that without you people, both here in the Vue forum and Renderosity at large, I wouldnt have had the skill, confidence and feeling of community that allowed me to enter this challenge. So it is to you folks that I have to thank for this win, not just the people who entered this month, and there were some very good entries, not only for the people who voted for my work, thank you all, but to all the people who enter into the community that is the Vue forum day after day, providing inspiration, help and encouragement to all those around them. It is, I suppose, an often said remark when accepting an award but it truly is you folks who are as deserving this award as I. Finally, due to work constraints, (I work night shifts) Im not able to contribute as fully as Id like to this forum the cost of the phone during the day is prohibitive. But in the next couple of weeks Ill be ADSLd so Ill be able to access the net when Im at home during the day. So youll all see a lot more of me soon, ;) Finally 2, I couldnt post a message like this without mentioning Guitta, whose help and moderation in this forum is, Im sure, welcomed and appreciated by all. Thank You. Oh.. and Guitta, Ill be in touch with the May challenge as soon as I finish work tomorrow morning, as Sherlock Holmes once said this is a three pipe problem so itll be around 3ish in the morning rosity time. Just a quick note, if you're in the UK, Digit magazine have a Vue 4 demo on this months cover disk. Unsure if it's time restricted or crippled in any way.
