"Well I can't speak for anyone but myself but I have some SheFreak outfits in the works, but having never gotten a solid release date for her I put them on the back burner to work on other projects." Any hints on what we can look forward to?

Thanks, I'll give it a try later this week, time permitting. Still, [whine on] I like it better when he does it! [whine off]. ;-)

"Note that There is a Peter Pan costume for Puck by PDXJims, and Dodger's Swordswoman Adventuress for She-Freak (a sort of Xena-like costume)." Grabbed the Swordswoman for the boots; Peter Pan, unfortunately, doesn't fit into any of my plans. :-( "In the meantime Dodger says you can use the Tailor resize trick for fitting clothes for other figures to them, as they are both unimesh figures. " Tailor's too expensive, since it means buying a PC or getting VPC to work. :-( I'll watch for stuff, but a catsuit for Puck would be nice, as would some sci-fi boots for both. In the meantime, I'm very happy with everything of Dodger's I've purchased to date; keep it up. ;-) -- Walt

Any chance of getting some clothing (boots, belts, catsuits, etc.) for Puck and She-Freak? The characters are great, but now I need some cool Sci-Fi suits for 'em. ;-)

Looks great, Serrge (as always), but could you post a small head shot or two showing a few of the head morphs, such as a render of the mouth closed? I'm eager to puchase, but I'd like to see another head shot or two so that I'll be sure I can use it.
Thread: 3Delight Test Renders Using DAZ Studio ALPHA | Forum: DAZ|Studio
"...I prefer the facts given here (even if they might be more technical than some people care to know) over hype and specualtion. " I agree; people like Stewer, for example, approach DAZ Studio and it's abilities from a totally different technical aspect than I do; he sees things I don't, and by comparing and contrasting them to other packages, rendering engines or lighting models, helps me to understand how D|S is actually working and, more importantly, helps me see any possible shortcomings or untapped potential. By better understanding what we've got, we also get an idea of what we don't have, and, in a positive way, things we can either expect or, at the very least, hope for. It's that kind of outlook that'll help D|S improve; moreso, in most cases, than rose-coloured-glasses fanfare.
Thread: Minotaur by n0s4at2 and RawArt Released! | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
"I thought by making the legs separate would give him more diversity. I should point out the legs auto pose using standard freak and m3 poses with little or no tweaking." That's the point that sells me; I prefer doing sci fi over fantasy, and being able to have my minotaur head on a more human-styled body lets the character use my existing space suits and stuff (less helmets... at least the helmets as is). I'm picking it up later today; you guys did a great job! -- Walt Sterdan, Freelance
Thread: Dear Dystopia owners - a request | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
Will do so later today, sorry for not making a point of it earlier. To be honest, it just didn't seem necessary; they're so obviously fantastic; add to that the fact that there's so many of your free versions available for people to try, and I can't imagine anyone needing a review, not when they can test a free set. Quick question for you: I've been patiently waiting to purchase the new set somewhere other than here, but so far I've only seen the .LWO versions. Do you still plan on selling the Poser versions elsewhere? -- Walt Sterdan, Freelance
Thread: IS DAZ really serious about animation???? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
"lets be frank the base poser community downloads, dresses up pose and render still figures. we small percentage who animate Daz chracters prefer to render them in other programs" You forget that part of that small perentage who animate is DAZ itself, who normally render in Lightwave, if I remember correctly. When they first bought Mimic, one of the reasons they stated for doing so was that it was a tool they themselves used and needed, and they didn't want to see disappear. I suspect that, in building D|S, they're building something that they themselves want to use at a professional level, for stills and animation. Until such time as D|S has evolved into a full-features package that could replace Lightwave in most areas, I suspect that the ability to move D|S work into Lightwave will be high on their list.
Thread: Why not make it available to everyone at the same time? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
"Thousands? I doubt that many people have jumped onto the PC bandwagon." Actually, he said thousands of configurations -- however many PC'ers decide to beta test, some, like myself, will be testing them on more than one system, dropping the number of PC'ers needed to test thousands of configurations. I have no idea how many PC'ers there are, but the DAZ forum currently has 37,143 members; if only 5.38% of them are PC'ers, then they actually do number in the thousands. ;-) For what it's worth, I have saved thousands of dollars with my membership. ;-)

"2. And remember this too. DAZ have used it on their own systems - maybe 40 or 50 different configs? The PC members will up that number into the thousands and then the real truth will come out about hardware incompatibilities and weird system glitches." Not to mention that PC members almost certainly own the largest number and variety of DAZ products, allowing them to test the widest range of DAZ products with DAZ Studio.
Thread: DAZ Freak Morphs Updater MAC | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I like the installers; hand-installing one or two packages is no huge chore, but I frequently have to install 10 or 20 at a crack, and dragging individual items to their various directories (and sub-directories, and sub-sub-directories) loses its appeal real quick. Out of the hundreds of DAZ's installers that I've used, the last two updaters were the only ones that didn't work for me... not a bad average.

"I'm still sad about the P4 thing myself. I'm even sadder about how much time we sank into trying to get around it without getting a result." That means I won't have to wait as long for the next one, right? I grabbed and loved the last one and I've been antsy waiting for the next two (to the point of almost buying the Lightwave versions and converting 'em myself -- how dumb is that?). Good news, for the most part; I'll be watching for 'em at PoserPros. In the meantime... hurry up. ;-)

<sigh> I was going to resist them for now, but going the extra distance to make 'em compatible with M2 & V2 did me in. I'll pick 'em up today... bstrd! ;-) -- Walt Sterdan, Freelance
