Well a complete rewrite (at least for OSX) is coming.....
Apple is dropping support for the Carbon 64 libraries. So everybody that didn't do what Stevie told them to start 8 years ago are going to be hosed.
"At the WWDC show last June, however, Adobe & other developers learned that Apple had decided to stop their Carbon 64 efforts. This means that 64-bit Mac apps need to be written to use Cocoa (as Lightroom is) instead of Carbon. This means that we'll need to rewrite large parts of Photoshop and its plug-ins (potentially affecting over a million lines of code) to move it from Carbon to Cocoa."

The Victoria 4 character (along with Vicky 3, Michael 3, Stephanie Petite , David, Aiko, Hiro, Luke, Laura, Matt and Maddie) can be found at www.daz3d.com.
If you are looking for clothes for the Poser 7 figures, I would recommend the following sites:
renderosity.com (of course)
runtimedna.com (Great Morph sets here)
contentparadise.com (home of Poser 7)
I don't know if you are using windows or Mac, but take a look at Wardrobe Wizard (at www.philc.net) or XDresser (www.evilinnocence.com). These programs can covert clothing from one character to another character. It will save you quite a bit of money in the long run.
Thread: Maconverter...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Too many folks never update their descriptions. No one has needed maconverter since Poser 5.

Am I the only person that uses WW2 to put morphs in clothing?
I use it for that all the time.
For example, I just ran BATLAB's YT shirt & jacket through WW2 & added not only the L3 morphs, but also every Laura FBM that I have.
It does get quite a bit larger, but that is because I have been too lazy to figure out which ones I need and which ones I don't.
Thread: RDNA no longer at CP as well... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't consider this any big deal.
I have a set of URL that I troll through on a regular basis, I'll just add RNDA to the list.
The only down side I see is that I won't be able to use any coupons on RNDA stuff now.

Quote - Why would anyone buy RDNA or Rendo products someplace else when you can get them at the original store? I would think CP would want individual merchants so they would have unique content.
One-stop shopping. Some people may enjoy spelunking through who knows how many websites, but I don't.....
This is a bummer....

Gotta love Jobs telling people what they need or don't need, rather than letting the consumer tell Apple. There's a reason there are far more PCs being used, this is one of them.Downloading content is terrific, but people like to store files and play content from DVDs. Maybe they want to rent from Blockbuster rather than purchase from Apple.
The product looks good as an on the road computer, but it will be a very pricey option.
Jobs has always told apple users what they need or don't need. And he doesn't really care what the customer wants. If he did, we would have the option of a 12" MacBookPro, a MiniTower, and decent video cards for all of our Macs.
This product was not designed to be someone's primary computer. It was designed for people who already own a desktop & want a light portable.
Yeah, it is expensive, but look at the engineering that when into this puppy. A specially shrunk CPU, and all of the other reduced size goodies add up.
If I had bought a MacPro last year instead of my MacBookPro, this would be my laptop of choice. I suspect I will not be alone in this. I know that when I replace my laptop, I'll be getting one of these.
Thread: poser 6 or poser 7? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - whats rendering in a separate process and can use multiple cores for rendering? anyone know?
Rendering goes into a seperate thread. Poser can use up to 4 cores to do your renders, making it go faster. Except for those of us who upgraded to OSX 10.5. Hopefully the next service pack will fix that.

Have you read the Poser 7 manual?!?!?!
It is the worst POS technical writing I have read in nearly 30 years.
Confusing examples, an index that is worthless, I could go on & on but I won't.

I guess my message didn't get thru.
I am interested in helping out.
I have Poser 7 on a MacbookPro running 10.5.1
I can install a copy of Poser 6 on a G4 (Very Heavily upgraded) running 10.4.11
I have bought WAY too much stuff here at 'rosity...and other places....

Well, I can't use a lot of it because of the 0S9 installers. There were a couple of things I could use however.

But it does...
OS X 10.5 breaks one of the renderers in Poser 7. While troubleshooting, I reinstalled Poser 7 on my backup computer to see if it was a 10.5 issue or user issue. As soon as I fired up the second instance of Poser (1 on laptop, 1 on backup), The program informed me that the serial number was already in use & closed the program.
The phone home code was added in SR 2.

I think what needs to be looked at is the distribution angle.
I know that I have never seen a shrink-wrapped copy of Poser 5 at any computer store. I have never seen a shrink-wrapped copy of Poser 6 at any computer store. I have seen (a) Poser 7 copy (Windows) at compuseless, but no MAC version.
I see lots of copies of Smith Micro products in both the windows sections & the apple section at compuseless.
I think that Smith Micro will sell a lot of copies of poser, & since the product now phones home to check the serial number, the piracy issue will start to die down.

Then you have to wait for the next service pack. I have been speaking to ef on this & they can not consistantly recreate the bug, but implied that it would be fixed in the next service pack.
