Yeah, for some reason, journeyEd hasn't put it up on the Curious Labs page, yet. If you want to order Poser 5 from there, here's the link: LINK
Be warned though, even though this is the academic resource affiliated with Curious Labs, their not receiving software any faster than the others. Heck perhaps even slower (They say they won't get their first shipment of Poser 5 till Oct. 1st).
Good luck to you!

If it makes you feel any better, as things are now, I'm not expecting P5 till Oct. 15 (hurray for jurneyEd...) ~DM

AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! I want my Poser 5! ;_; ok, I feel better now... I wouldn't have even noticed there wasn't eyebrows. The shadows on her face looks like smoothed out eyebrows (is that a shadow, or is that postwork?) ~DM

"Is scaling a dragon like scaling a fish?" In theory, possibly, it depends on the dragon. Then again, I cant picture myself getting skinned ~blink~ ~blink~ Wait a sec Why the hell am I answering this! O_o; ~DM I need to stop role playing one of these days.

Thanks for the info, Steve! That's about what I should have expected from the face room. For some reason, I got it in my head that you had found a way to create the meshes dynamically (I should know better, even in simple projects, this is not an easy task). That would be awesome, but not very feasible Maybe that will be ready for Poser 6? ;p ~CD

Actually, I stand corrected; it's not bad at all (It's been much worse.) PC133 512 mb is going to cost you around $30 for the generic brands. Also, what OS are you running? I've noticed that people are having problems rendering with the win9x variants. Just as an example, someone running windows 98 would have poser choke, while someone with a weaker system would have no problems rendering with XP. Some of the older versions of windows didn't handle memory as well as the newer variants. Also, it may help to defragment you HD. If you system is defaulting to the swap space on your HD, then defragmenting the drive should optimize the drive for r/w access. If you need any more tips, just let me know (I'll probably start a separate thread though, as I'm starting to pull this one off topic...) ~DM

actually, it's wasn't that expensive. It just depends on what kind you need... for example, I'm using SDRam PC133. That's two 512mb sticks which set me back a whole $60 ($25 a stick + S&H) when I got them about a year ago. Currently, Ram prices are up, so it'll cost you a little more. Take a look around though, depending on what you need, it may not be as expensive as you thought. ~DM

I just don't get it... works fine on the computers here, with multi-figures and full maps, on our AMD 1.1 ghz w/ 1.25gb ram... Maybe the extra 512mb of ram actually does make that much of a difference... ~DM

well, there used to be a couple morphs in the free section here, that flattened and shrank the eyebrows on eve and posette. I can't seem to find them at the moment, but I'm sure they still exist. It's just a matter of finding them... ~DM

Well, I dont know about the rest of you but the comment from Mr. Kondris tells me one thing. First, let me apologize in advance if this opens up a can-o-worms (and feel free to tell me Im wrong). At least for me, that message gives me some serious doubts about the ability of the P5 face room. Im now getting the impression that it works off of something like morphs, rather than modifying the actual geometry of the character. If this is the case, then the face room will be rather limited in it abilities. I really hope Im wrong, but thats the only way I can see new characters not being able to take advantage of this system. Also, a $30k price tag? I hope thats incorrect If thats the cost of making a figure ready for the face room, then Its probably a safe bet that the only characters that will take advantage of this is Don & Judy. If thats the case, the face room will be useful for a while, but the demand for hi-resolution characters will basically render this feature useless. Like I said, I hope Im wrong, and I misunderstood Mr. Knodriss post. If not, Im just a little worried If the face room is nothing more than just an auto dial setting kludge, then how are the other features done? ~DM
