I'm a bit suspicious....why aren't the improvements more widely advertised? They're offering 2 free figures, free membership etc with the $79 which doesn't entice me because new figures usually means purchasing new mats and clothes etc. Posers upgrade notification unfortunately came after finding out that the price for Xtivity ..a flash authoring program I bought last year for $200US has been dropped to $79 bucks.. Luckily I took advantage of a special discount and didn't pay the full amount of $399.00..but they used to have a forum (since deleted) and lots of people did pay $399 so I'm not as badly off as some. I'm off to lick my wounds until I feel like forking out any more money for software :-/
Thread: Poser BIG PROBLEM - caused by recent install of Vue Infinite | Forum: Vue
GOOD NEWS - after updating my Nvidia drivers P6 is working. I don't understand why P6 suddenly stopped working because it had been running w/out a problem for a year or more under the old drivers. Anyway..I'm relieved that P6 is working again :-)
Thanks again for suggestions etc.
Thread: Poser BIG PROBLEM - caused by recent install of Vue Infinite | Forum: Vue
Quote - One thing I've found that does make a difference to Poser is the version of OpenGL support. When DAZ 3D did their special deal on Hexagon, I found that I needed a video driver upgrade for everything to work properly. I don't know if Vue could have changed anything. There are two quick checks you can make. In Poser, it's possible to switch off the OpenGL requirement. It's also possible to reduce the hardware acceleration setting in Windows. If either of these have a beneficial effect, get an updated driver. And go to the manufacturer. Windows Update just isn't current on this.
I have had issues with OpenGL but only trying to render using Open GL in Hexagon. I'm running a GeForce 2 Nvdidia MX/MX400 64mb card..but what's weird is that I've never had a problem with Poser before...well not big ones anyway..this is about as bad as it could get. :-/
I found a message on the Vue site from someone with a similar problem which may explain the problem (I hope!). Apparently Poser and Vue "talk" to each other, and if Vue encounters a bodgy Poser serial no. Poser becomes inoperable. The Vue technician suggested applying to Poser for a new serial no. For some reason it may have thought my version of Poser is pirated.
I'm not sure yet if this is the problem...but if it is I'm hopping mad that I after paying almost $1,000AUD for Poser + Vue Infinite, one of them is refusing to work because of the under-the- radar cross checking used to keep tabs on piracy.
I'll contact Poser about it and post the results. Wish me luck..I'm going through severe Poser withdrawals here. Might be time for a new hobby.
Thread: SR3 Problem: background importing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Many thanks for taking the time to reply with such detailed suggestions about reloading Poser etc.
I won't have to reload Poser ....silly me had the Figure selected in the Material Room instead of Background..no wonder ticking auto fit didn't work. Thanks again!
Thread: SR3 Problem: background importing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - In the material room, select the background and check Autofit under the BG Picture settings. That fixed the rendering square issue for me. My image was not the same aspect ratio as the small but very wide and not so tall render window, but with this setting on, Poser 6 SP3 did not change the image aspect ratio to fit in the window. Instead it left an edge of empty background color on both sides of the image in the dimension it can not fit precisely to the window as not to distort or crop the image. I'm surprised that Autofit is not checked automatically as rendering a landscape image as a square despite the Poser window also being in a landscape size is pretty strange.
It doesn't work for me...I checked autofit and same problem. I have a pic. of a moon as the background and it ends up egg shaped instead of round. Weird thing is that it doesn'thappen using P4 render option. Does anyone know how to undo the SR3 patch without uninstalling and reinstalling Poser and the subsequent patches up to 3..because until I can do this P6 is unusable. Thanks.
Thread: SR3 Problem: background importing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Same problem here after installing sr3 the background image shrinks when rendering....never encountered it before. Using Poser 4 renderer is fine...it's only with Firefly - and it doesn't matter what size the Texture Size is set to. This is a definitely a bug and I hope it's fixed soon 'cause I"m fed up with Poser's quirks after paying good money for the darn software I want it to work properly.
