Thanks Pakled. I did managed to create a decent texture in photoshop. It took a while but looks spiffy. I also managed to figure out how to uv map it in Wings3d.

Hi Cajomi. I can't remember if I asked this yet, but will there be a port to the Mac OS. It looks really cool.

Electroglyph thanks for the cone spotlight and settings. That is exactly the type of effect I was loking for, but did not know how to create it. I second Brysters opinion. That is one way cool sword. I'll look into some other lighting solutions, but I do like how it renders with True Ambience. David

Unfortunately I don't have a usb memory stick, and with the very real threat of my union going out on strike in two weeks, I don't have the cash for one. I wonder if it would run from a cd and i could save the stuff I make onto my work hard drive, with library sounding names.... I'll have to give it a shot. David

Why does this have to be windows only? Why can't we mac users get a break.... I'll have to see if I can download it at work....maybe work won't delete it as fast as they deleted wings..... Thanks Rochr. Cheers David:)

Oh, the render time is going to be horrible. I mean that image is 50...well 65 % created in wireframe. I still have to model and texture a sword and tweak the spotlights before I do a complete render with TA and DOF at 64 RPP. I will probably do a smaller render first to post, before I do the print size ones. If my mac could hate me, it would hate me with the passion of a thousand burning suns :) David

Hi all. Thanks for all your support. While I cannot say what the problem was (since I don't know), I can say that I found a very easy work around. Basically I open a default bryce scene and clicked the daz studio button. On DS opened I imported my object, then sent it through Daz Studio back into Bryce. Whatever Daz studio did it took care of my problem. Yay Daz Studio! Of course by this time I had thought up a better idea for my scene. Anybody know of some sword making tutorials for wings? Picture is 50 % done, with 20 trees a spot light and a moss covered tree stump. All that's left is the sword Gram, and to tweak the lighting, oh and the 2 week long render :p Thanks. David

I set it to max 256 rpp and I am still having the problem :( Thanks for the suggestion though. David
