Thank you, Artalgo! I should have mentioned that my friend said the 'handles' were not there in vue, but the DOTS where they were pointing were still there.. did you see any handle dots? (black dots) in your test? Really appreciate your testing for me!! Lyne

Thread:  OT - My computer's CPU died | Forum: Vue
Oh no... what an awful thing!! I hope you have all your wonderful work backed up... sometimes I even take all my vue scene files and put them on an archive CD... I am so paranoid after loosing my hard drive once.. I back up everything, even the smallest free dowload...and of course all stages of my model work... It is so long and difficult to reload too... I hope you have a new "art" machine soon! Sympathy, Lyne

sigh... I paid for my software...and actually never thought of going to convert my trueSpace materials into vue materials... oh! I guess I can use them, since I HAVE trueSpace! Well, had not thought of that till this very minute! So perhaps that is a help in this quandry... if you have trueSpace it's okay for YOUR OWN USE, but if not, it is questionable... and I prefer not to be questionable... More and more there are folks like Kromekat that are creating wonderful, original textures for us at reasonable prices... and this way we support our own too! :) Lyne

Thread: Anyone else having trouble downloading DAZ freebies? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay.. I do have Java in fact I got every bell and whistle I could.. and am using IE6... I have 512 ram, and NO TSR's running.. got a tech for a hubby who keeps my machines slim and mean running... I even turned OFF my fire wall, but no help there.. when I was talking to Dan Farr he said my machine did not like to "talk to" their server.. and it seems to still be true... oh.. and I had this download trouble before IE6 too, exactly the same. And yes, download stops (no matter size of file) at about 288 KB or so.. I find it odd that I CAN download from anywhere else in the world, quite litterally... so it is honestly a msytery! Thanks for your help all and I sure will send a note to Don, thanks, Don!! The archives for freebies don't help me.. it's still the same thing, on the DAZ servers.. freebies, products.. I wish I knew... Lyne

Thread: The Great Grape Experiment! (thanks, Varian!) | Forum: Vue
Very much (re: enjoying the goodies) and can see that your leaves will become a regular part of my vue use! Useing the fern plants.. hmmm wonder if I can give the fern STEM a woody look! Another way to go! :)) I kept my grape experiment file, and will try that too..and eventually I am sure this will become an image of some sort! :) Thanks, Lyne

Thread: Trees in blossem with thanks to Varian, and request! | Forum: Vue
OH good, I am glad you like what I did with your leaves!! I am always concerned about how the artist feels about modifiying the textures.. I used your leaves a lot in my gallery image called Endangered Speicies... the more fantasy leaves were just right! :) Lyne

Oh dear.. now let me see if I have this straight.. as long as I use Jim's textures in my own "for personal use only" fun images and do not SELL them OR my image with them in it,(which I wouldn't anyway) I am free to use them??? Or am I not free to use them at all? This is really confusing... I do use all my 'freebies' only in my own art... and don't even share the freebie zip with anyone else... so am I okay?? Lyne

Thread: IMPORTANT!!! VOTING FOR THA APRIL CHALLENGE | Forum: Vue
OH dear, when I clicked on the new lower left one, I got sent to the blue scary face one.. and when I clicked on that it has not link... and now above I see that there is another missing one... I THINK I would still vote for The Knight.... but not sure what will happen now... Can understand how complicated it is to find all the entries and compile them.. this is my first time to even vote... Lyne

Thread: scaling textures | Forum: Vue
Oh this is a great help to me too! Thank you for asking and thank you Guitta for your pictures showing how! (I am a very visual person, I always need pictures and really appreciate your extra work to do this!!) I am just starting to work with photo textures (those Kromekat textures are beautiful!) and I did not realize where to change the scale! I was doing it in the wrong place! Another thing to try! :)) Lyne
