Thanks Pjz99, To tell you the Truth, I favored Cinama 4D, as I was able to Try a Demo for a few days before I was pulled off with a ton of work that couldn't wait. I thought it was fairly easy to learn, and I liked the partical effects that they had seemed pretty easy to understand.
If you import say V4, will Cinama pull the Textures with it or do you have to make your own?
Thread: Will HIGH-END programs and Daz figures ever be made? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm looking to buy Modo, for Modeling, Messiah for Animating figures, and Either Cinama 4D or Lightwave for the Final Render. Both of them will let me Import Vue Extreams Scenes.
I know that Maya has a great weight setup which lets you gigles when you move the body. I'm curious does Cinama 4D or Lightwave have a simular effect. I would get Maya, and had though hard about it. But It's learning curve is worrysome with all I want to accomplish.
One thing I had in mind was Import V4 and Redue Her, along with M3. Rework them and make masters of them to branch other models off of, simular to what you can do with V4 and M3 know. I want them to be more effecent on resourse with a lower poly count. I want more control over Body movements, and I love the way the cloth works in Messiah.
But after looking at some of the models that are comming out of this Thread, I might just look here for some good models. I don't want to get into All the features that these programs can do except what I want from each one, and use the one that does what it does best. This is why I chose these Three Programs for my needs.
I have Poser 7 now and like all the nice Charatures and their Textures you can get. From what I think I understand Those textures don't import into Cinama or Lightwave too well??? I may have misunderstood. I make full lenght movies and I'm tired of the limatations within Poser, and I have issues with DAZ studio. They were great for a good number of years, but now I want more.
If I get Lightwave I will get the lighter Version or Cinamas Core version. I should have everything I will need or I can buy a module if needed. There are plenty of users here that use most of the Programs I mentioned. So Feedback is very welcome, even if you disagree, and why you disagree. I know I could probably get Maya and do everything I want. But from people I've talked to You can model 5 times faster in Modo as you can in Maya. That is very important to me. Messiah is one of the Best Animating Programs I've seen. What I use to render the final Production is up for grabs. I would like the Weighting effect if Possible, and a partical Effects program.

I can't believe there is even a discussion of this nature. It is a thing of self control of your emotions, We are talking about people here trying to learn things, giving tips. What is so dificult and wrong about saying, Well that is the way you do it, but I prefere to do it this way because. There is nothing left to discuss and go to war over, unless you just like to argue. Which case there are plenty of Political Debates on the Web. you will have a lot more fun there.
They like calling people names and insults.
When I first got onto the internet for the first time about 11 years ago. On one of these forms. I was reading some of the stuff, and it sounded like third graders that just learned how to cuss and wanted to let everyone know they could. There was nothing at all positive about it. I have more important thinks to do than listen to people who argure and insult. It is non constructive.
I haven't seen the post that was mentioned. I was out of commission with a computer virus that wouldn't let me turn on my computer for a week. But surely we have enought creative people here that disagree about how to do something, can come up with a better solution than start insulting someone. These are great forums. Live and learn.

I was wondering how do you apply Facial movements along with just the neck and head to animation.
Example: I have a person walking, and want to keep the characture walking as is, except I want to apply a person, looking around suspiously in suspense.
I applied the face to the walk from the face folder. the facial expressions worked great but the head didn't turn as my original head animation did.
Then I saved the animated head in the Pose files with no movement to the any other body parts.
I applied the walk to the model, then went to the pose file and applied the facial expression I saved to the walking model. It wiped out the walk and only the emotion remainded on the model.
I am trying to make a seried of complex facial emotions that I can apply to a characture where only certine body parts are applied and the rest of the body is uneffected. I see this with poses that you can apply an arm pose that does not effect any other body part. I can't find the information on how to do this. Thanks
Thread: Problem with Type Faces | Forum: Photoshop
sorry for the delay, I had my computer repair a glitch.
I installed Illustrator, and Photoshop and all things on the Setup CD into the regular set up.
My problems came when I had to buy a new computer. It came with a bunch of other programs with it. One of them was Microsoft Power Point. I did some artwork and sent it to a client. They then put the art into power point and did the typesetting. I also did the type setting to give them a guide on how to lay out the page.
The Problem all started and never cleared up when I took a look at the typefaces that were in Power Point. They had some neet Typefaces that I liked, but I liked Adobes faces better.
When I opened Illustrator after that, first it only showed the Poser Point typefaces, not my Adobe Typefaces. I deleted The Power Point program, because I would never use it.
That didn't do anything I still have those faces. Now I don't even have those faces. I have the ugliest typefaces there is. I have about 4 typefaces that are good for headlines, where as I had a lot of beautiful typefaces before.
I looked into my - Adobe/Adobe Type Manager,- and I checked my PSfonts folder and there is nothing in there. I never removed them after I reinstalled All My Illustrator, and Photoshop programs. When I load all my fonts with a regluar setup they should all go into their folders, they had in the past, but they don't do that anymore. I have never been able to comeup with the answer.
I am going to get more ram soon, but that can't be the problem with the fonts.
Thanks for the input, That is where I am right now.

Very Interesting Dann-0, I Use to go to Ceader Point quite often many a year ago when it was small time. Landed next to it in a Helocopter. What took you to China. My guess Buisness. That must be a great experince over there.

Dann-O: I imported it into Poser 6. I now have Poser 7 but hadn't tried importing into That.
"When I first saw your name, I thought you were an old friend I use to work with from Toledo, Ohio."
Thanks for that Information.
Captain Jack 1: That is something I hadn't learned to do, and very well could be my problem. I hope it is. I don't have a book in Silo, but I can call out the help files. If I can get this conqured I can start doing things I would not have attemped. I won't get into figures. unless maybe down the road a cartoon charactures. (A lot more LeaWay)
There is one other problem I am not completely sure which way to do it for the best results.
Example you want to make a Few holes in a wall as an example. I have been Boolean threw walls. but I get wierd results at times. Sometimes they all show up correctly, sometimes I get left over geometere in the wall and inside the wall. The inside the wall artifacts were the result of a square going all the way through 2 wall of an airplane.
I always make sure I have enough of the object that will bore throught the main final object so it will have a whole all the way through it. I do this because the same shape of the boring object is the same size and shape object that will be either the door or window. I then model that object as I scale the thickness to be correct.
Because I sometimes get mixed results, does it matter if I group a number of objects that will do the boring. then so they all can go through at the same time to Boolean that object.
When I do that that away. Sometimes not all of them do the Boolean correctly.
The former mentioned and the Boolean problems are the imeadate problems that I have had. If i can conquer these two items. I can do a lot I want to do. I know there is a lot to learn more than that, but modeling will now be a vialble option. Thanks !
Thread: Conforming, Dynamic, or Hybrid? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
RorrKonn: This is an excellent way to discuss things that we are all leaning from the Poser point of view, cutting edge ways to make Clothes from one another that will be to everyones benifit. I like that fact that every one is taking a look at different techniques of going about putting Clothes in motion.
A Different point of view is vital to see things at a differnt perspective. What you experience is vital information that can be looked at, and studied. The things you experiece tells us all about problems or possable solutions that some may have not came across.
What we are doing now is working inside the box. The final porduct for fantastic clothing may well be a complete technique that is dicovered by accident, like Plastic was, as an example.
What ever we end up with, I hope is a more automated way of putting the steps to get it to work easier for the majority of poser masses. This might well be in the Efrontieer end product. But it might very well be stimulated from one of the many people working to make Hi Bred Clothing or Dynamic clothing as easy as Conforming. You will then see that market explode. The person that comes up with that product should make a lot of money. I'm all for that! (Not in the big price tag, but in the number of sales)
I'm sure if you come up with a way of making a great product, and as simple of a product to use, that is a goldmine combonation.

RorrKonn: Did I say you don't know what your talking about?
Your taking this way to personal. That statement is one of the future not the past. it is not even directed at you. That was a statement on the direction of the whole convesation.
I'm an optimist, I see the world with a lot of work, and without limits, if that upsets you, then be your professional self, "as you say. " I have no doubt that you are!" But don't start climbing on an alter and start preaching that everyone is below you. You know nothing about me.
Thread: Conforming, Dynamic, or Hybrid? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
To say it has limits is to say man will never land on the moon. Everything is possible. All it is, is finding a new direction. That comes with hard work and new Ideas. I started with poser 4, and was happy to animate with it, but quickly saw a lot of limitations with the charactures clothing and renders. It was great for it's time.
Now look at what we are talking about. Displacement maps, clothes that flow. Hair that Flows. Special effects with bombs bursting in the air. Rain comming down. All these things I can do now, and it can be done because a number of people dove into the unknown and said. I'll find away. We have only just begun.
In three years "if the rest of the world holds together," You will see amazing things with clothes, renders, and animations. At that time then Then tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. When I first saw the Shrek animation, I was blown away. By the second Shrek movie, I saw some of the freatures in the movie that was filtering into Poser. No where that top knotch quality, but in the same direction.

Svdl: I'll give it a try. I will be getting Poser 7 in a day or two. Hope that speeds up my render times. I also updated with a new computer, Seams like every two years or less.
Thread: Conforming, Dynamic, or Hybrid? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wow! Now I'm going to have a clothing file for each Conforming, Dynamic, and HiBreed piece of clothing. Once I finish up on the last parts of my movie, I'm going to have to do some serious messing with Dynamic, and HiBreed clothing. It is such a big improvement over Conforming. I just hope I can find a workaround for my movies So I can get the clothing to lineup correctly.
No Questiong that Dynamic is the way to go for small animations. I know most people use Dynamic clothing as Art and not animation. and it looks great. Once I get into it, I might start experimenting in making my own. So little time an so much to do!
Nice look there HollywoodBest. Unfortunatly I don't have any answers for you, as I am just starting to mess around with Dynamic clothing. I've been working on a movie for the last 6 months with about a week to go to finish, and I couldn't change the charactures clothing at this point. Maybe the next movie.

HollywoodBest, Ah! you cracked me up laughting.
*"Not to say that it doesn't happen in real life, seen many girls bend over and instead of their butt crack you see their red satin thongs."
*I remember the first mini skirt I saw which was on a model, I was hoping for a breaze!
Well, smack my face! Shame on me for being a guy!
Anyway, I do animations, and something I'm soncerned with is, if I have two people carring on a conversation. "A lot of the time I can zero in on their face, and there's no problem with what kind of clothing they are wearing." But there are times when, each person talks back and forth and they are both in the frame, I like to do that to break up the manonty, (hey, I'm an animator, not a english major.) Poser won't let you carry over the animated face poses using Mimic, in the animated clip. It starts from frame one, on.
With conforming clothing I can save that last frame of the two charactures slide them to framd 1, and start the conversation from frame 1, and contenue that conversation, and it is seamless.
I've tried Dynamic Clothing, but with Dynamic clothing, from what I understand, you have to animate so the clothing catches up to the pose. My concern is, in doing so, when both people are in view. i doubt that the clothes will line up correctly in doing my animation the way it needs to be set up fairly often. I love dynamic clothing, the flow. but when the clothes don't line up in an anmation, then I can't use them.
Because of it. most of my girls have to wear short dress's. or they don't have that natural flow of a long dress.
