I just export the figure (including hair) from poser in obj file then import that into bryce. The textures all go in fine, but you've got to go into the material dialog and load and apply the transparency map yourself. Thats what I do, and have done very recently with the hair and it worked good without probs.

Thread: User libraries | Forum: Bryce
Yeah, know the problem. This is how I clean up my user object library file - Every so often, I export all the objects in my user object library to another place, then I just delete my user object library file, and then reimport all the previously exported objects. This seems to get rid of the deleted stuff that was still being stored in the library file and ensures that you only have what you see (so to speak) in your library file.

ah, ok.... to make a transparency map (the thing that goes in the alpha channel), you need white where its not at all transparent and black where it is totally transparent. If you put it as grey (like what you've done by the sounds of it - i.e. using the texture map as the transparency map).... then it'll all be partially transparent which is what you're seeing in the right picture. So, you've got to make a transparency map for the hair, which is white where you want no transparency.... and put that in.

Thread: Addint Memory to Bryce? | Forum: Bryce
RayRaz - Bryce somtimes makes a temp file named ???spool???.tmp or something like that in the c:windowstemp area when you are doing some things (its not the swap file). The biggest mine ever has got was about 200MB big at any time. Normally its only a few kb, but sometimes it gets really big when I'm doing "big" things.

Oh yeah, in addition - if you use win98se as your operating system, then don't have more than 512MB total RAM in your PC - you might run into some troubles if you do.

My advice - get more RAM - at least another 256MB. Check you motherboard manual first though - that'll tell you how much RAM that your motherboard can take (total), and how big a RAM stick it can take in any one of its slots. Also, make sure you get a RAM type that is compatioble with your motherboard and the other RAM you've already got in your PC.
