Thread: Is this the end of Victoria? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Is it my imagination, or does Dina seem to resemble "Rosario" from Will and Grace in this picture?

Nfred, indeed it can be traumatic, but at the same time it can result in surprising subroutines: PeaceofMind3.0, among others. As with changing PC for Macintosh, it may not be for everyone, but given what Ive read above, I wouldnt change my operating system for the world. =)
Thread: Buffy:TVS on Xbox, Hmm.. kinda looks like a PoserFem! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There was an amazing demonstration of the XBox approximately a year ago where Gates started with an image of a roomful of moustraps and pingpong balls. He ran the demo, which of course results in multiple traps slamming shut as balls are careening about, then he ran the same demo using a different ball to set it off, which resulted in a completely different cascade, all in real time. Its quite an amazing system, and I hope the developers are putting such power to use for something beyond the now-tired formats of first-person shooters and/or racing games.
Thread: Why do some people sell 3D models on the net that are available for free? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Helen, purchasing something does not automatically give you unqualified rights to it. You must check the models read-me to make sure. As for the original question, I dont think its been that long since we had MoCap selling models that were given away on the 3DWorld Magazine CD the very same month. Such idiocy never fails to astound me.
Thread: Looking for a free texture that includes a goatee or beard for Dork... Help??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
For hair, go to DigitalBabes, where you will find several excellent hair files, all of whom work on the P4Male. Another good bearded texture is the one found with the REMC Trooper character at 3D-CC.com.

Ive downloaded several files from the pages linked on Isos page, but they come in something called m3d files. Does anyone know what these are? They wont import into Poser, nor do any of my other 3D programs recognize them.

You want to see serious operating system problems? Uninstall Wife 1.0 and replace it with Boyfriend 5.5.
Thread: A peek into where Poser figures can go in the future | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What makes the whole PC/Mac thing all the more annoying is that Adobe KNOWS which platform was its bread and butter for years. Their "official" excuse on Atmosphere is that it utilizes a 3D card common to PCs as part of the driver engine, but I fail to see why they couldnt have considered that in the very beginning. Not amused one tiny bit.
Thread: blocking the "right click" function | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Even the code doesnt prevent the image from showing up in your temporary download folder in Windows. No code will stop that, at least none I know of. Once the image is captured on screen, its in your cache.
Thread: What the bloody hell is this? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
While I can value the importance of the creator, its this sort of exchange that makes me feel theres no point in mentioning any credits, ever, again, whether bought or freely acquired. Ive not purchased any of Steffys textures, but after this Im truly not sure I ever want to, no matter what the quality.
Thread: New Releases | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Shadow, I believe MeInOhio was referring to the Renderosity Store, not that run by DAZ. I must agree, actually. I find myself checking as many as a dozen sources on a more or less regular basis and can only barely keep up with the flood of new things being developed for us. Being an archivist and a packrat to boot, Ive filled almost 20 CDs with props and clothing and hair and characters since I began this somewhat outrageous hobby a few months ago, and if it werent for a comprehensive indexing program I find I must religiously follow, I would have little if any idea of what I have in stock. Its almost frightening.
Thread: Idea for the clothes designers | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I noticed on another board (outside Renderosity, and Im afraid I dont remember where) someone requested a revival of those over-the-top 1970s versions of "future fashion": the clothing people like Givenchy saw us wearing in the then-impossible year of 2000. Consisting of enormous, unisex robes, shaved heads, insanely bright colors, the "unikini" (which would make most of the poser lingeree seem Puritanical), they are all walking cartoons that would be great fun for Poser work. Ill have to track some photos down and post them for everyones amusement.
Thread: New License Restrictions at the Store | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Im afraid I dont understand the problem with eliminating these "warez" sites. If one is trafficking in stolen goods, then one is just as culpable as the theif himself. If someone puts up a "warez" site, then he/she is just as guilty as if he/she had stolen the software him/herself. Granted, with the server software out there, its like killing cockroaches in a New York brownstone: they reemerge somewhere eventually. Still, those servers must be registered, and registration means a name. Am I being too simplistic about this?
