I use irfanview and the gimp both are free, irfanview will get rid of the extra information and batch stuff. The gimp makes my jpg's smaller. http://www.irfanview.com http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net
Thread: Question about Poser figures in other 3D apps | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Most apps support the import of .obj files you could export to this format and import into you modeler as far as bones go poser will let you export a bvh file in short this is the bone deformation information import the bvh file and attach it to the object you should now have the bone structure. by the way Cinema4D and Carrara are my favorite apps for modeling and rendering in with that said I couldnt do nature without VUE 5I or world builder. Just remember when working with 3D or any other type of art for that mater there is no perfect solution or any one app that does everything try out some of the free software on the net and some demo's to find the tools that feel right for you. On last thing learn the proper use of texture and lighting techniques this will help you even if your modeling skills are weak. Hope this helps
Thread: Walk Designer: Intrest in it? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi I share your pain, I like walk designer but have never produced a clean animation with out having to tweak it. I wish more people would talk about this feature as well and maybe share there tips on how to use it more effectivly.
Thread: Walk Designer Question? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This problem happens with poser 4, 5 and 6, when the leg extends it looks like it pops into place with a small twist at the knee, I have looked at some other animations that have used walk designer and they all seem to have this problem. I was considering nerd3d's addon but it also has this problem. Dennis

Thread: Vue 4 Pro- Hyper-Threading and 3DS, LWO Exports | Forum: Vue
I don't have vue pro but HT works well in vue 4, having two threads working at a scene at the same time without having to use render cow is great, I would like to see what the amd 64bit with 8 threads can do.

Thread: A good Renderer | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just started using mover4 for vue and it works great with poser animations. vue4 is a lot faster then bryce for renders from my understanding natural poser requires you to do a lot more work to import your poser animations where as vue does the work for you. The other programm susanna works some windows api to translate the poser information I think that this company also has another program that will let you translate poser characters into other software as well such as cinema4d, truespace or what ever. As far as rendering your poser characters cinema4d has a very fast rendering engine, many people are using this program lately because v6 ce was free on 3dworld mag and computer arts. hope this helps
Thread: 2 Questions? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the reply I did the conform to figure, I can't hide the body parts because of the tunics length. I think I just have to make the adjustment manualy. Also I looked through the tutorials and the only topics I could find are on post work hair.
Thread: E-Frontier buys Curious Labs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Who cares who owns Poser, I have used Poser from v3 - v5 and have been happy with every version. I agree with previous posts that Poser 5 was released early and there were/are some problems however may of us could not or would not wait for the program to be released. When was the last time anyone bought a program that didn't require a service patch? I'm not defending CL but many of us seem to pay to beta test a lot of the software we purchase. From my understanding the company that has aquired Poser is rock solid and has been dedicated to their product since 1985. I think rather then speculate on what may happen to Poser or if Daz Studio will be the next Poser replacement, lets just contiune to do what we do "ART". One last thought if we are that concered about the fate of Poser and only time will tell, we could do the same thing the users of Blender did, purchase the software and make it open source.

It seems to me that the companies who have purchaces the Metacreations products haven't figured out how to market or release these gem's properly. (Bryce, Painter 3D, Super Goo, Canoma ect.) are either not updated or at risk of dissapearing all together - Does anyone know how Carrara is doing?
Thread: Making poser clothes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have just started doing this my self, I use cinema 4d ce +, or truespace 5 - I got this trick off of a tutorial. export your character as a .obj or .3ds (export only the parts you are going to use for clothing eg(legs and hips for pants or arms and torso for a shirt)) I usally scale parts a little larger than the origonal. Next step is to adjust the mesh until it starts to look like clothing.
Thread: what is better carrara or bryce 5 | Forum: Carrara
I thought that Bryce 4/5 exported as a mesh with textures not as a grey scale pic? My version of Bryce has different file formats to export to.
