There are quite a few "double-take" photos in some ads i just saw, (especially the ones with celebrities with egos - major photoshoping done).
one with tory spelling look almost "unhuman" in her pose...
wish i could post it... maybe i can find the ad online and link...
kort, thanks for the link !!

Thread: Graphic tablets and post work. | Forum: Photoshop
as with many others, Wacom IS the way to go. i have two, a 4x6 @ home and a 9x12 @ the office
stylus takes a little to get use to when you first switch over from the mouse... after that it becomes quite normal.

Thread: Does Size Really Matter? | Forum: Photoshop
like thunder said, size only really come into play when you go to output the image in print.
i don't know how many time i've had to explain resolution to people when they give me a SD card from their camera and want me to send them the images so they can email them to family and friends... it's always "so, do you want them to just look at them on screen? do you want them to be able to print them at a photo lab??"
i've got to the point where i just pull the files and send! Last time, there was a scream from the next office over because when i she opened the image of her kid there was just this huge eye staring at her (due to the resolution) .... oh well.
as to your post, limitations last only as long as hardware limits them... there was a time when you could not save a 20mg file because your hard drive was only 20mgs.

Thread: batch processing | Forum: Photoshop
you can run a "batch" on any action you create. you'll just have to experiment with the opening, saving and closing of the files when you set up the batch
i've done exactly what you wanted on a catalog full of "TIF" book-covers the were needed to be"JPG"d and resized for an e-commerce site.

Thread: Reading image metadata in Windows XP | Forum: Photoshop
there used to be a little app called "Photo Info" from MS but can't find in on their site, it points to the wonderfully useful "FILE NOT FOUND" page....
it looks like all the little tools MS had, have been rolled into their Pro Power Tools 2 program.

Thread: Reading image metadata in Windows XP | Forum: Photoshop
i know MS has a little program (part of the "Power Toys") that handle metadata display for RAW files called "RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for XP".
i haven't used it so i'm not sure how it handles other image formats (i use Bridge to search metadata)
outside of the PowerToys, i can't think of any add-ons for MS but i'll take a look

Thread: Best free stockphoto sites? | Forum: Photoshop
i've found some useful images on morguefile (mainly outdoor landscape shots...) but based on need, i use dreamstime at the office and usually pay for the "better" shots , same with stock exchange (sxc.hu).
these sites are great for photographers starting out in the "stock" trade, as they offer the ability to get exposure (no pun intended) as skills get better.
those are the three i use the most

Thread: Opening several images in a batch automation | Forum: Photoshop
hmmmmm. so you want to open background 001 and then open people 001 as a new layer, save, and close the file and repeat to 175...
not sure if you can batch it but you may be able to still automate some of it...
might be worth trying to figure out, let me try and work it out...

Thread: Question about Photoshop Elements 7 | Forum: Photoshop
not sure if i can give a definitive answer but i've always leaned towards "elements" being more for fixing photos and minor manips...
not sure how robust it'd be to do painting or texturing... but then again i don't have access to a system with "elements" to give it a proper run-through.

Thread: Blood Black rather than Red | Forum: Photoshop
i'm not sure what your files are...
Are the psd files meant to be used as brushes? are they actual photographs of blood? or are they spatter drops that can be used as blood in a drawing?
check and see what your color mode is in your document when you open them.
odd that hue/saturation didn't work, i use it all the time...

Thread: Ncaap | Forum: Photoshop
i was a member for quite a few years and found it to be well worth the money.
my membership recently ended and the company whom i work, has decided to not to renew it. i did not budget it and with a daughter in college i don''t see it in next years budget either.
as a business expense, i'm all for it, but i don't work for myself anymore.
like anything else, you get out of it whatever you put into it, if you sign up and plunk down your hard earned coin but don't read through the mag or bother to login to the NAPP site, or even take advantage to any of their seminars, than even if it were free, it wouldn't be worth the money.

Thread: simple text question | Forum: Photoshop
Try and use the transform tool (deselect the text tool, i usually click the arrow) and hit the "ctrl+t" (win) or the cmd+t (mac) keys and see where the bounding box shows up... if it's real small, grab a corner box and "shift+drag" it larger. if there really isn't a "text box" you should get an error message say something about the bounding area is empty...
hope it helps
