I wonder if I'd have enough things to fill a DVD? Probably not unless I started making uncompressed print resolution photos, animations, and ridiculously detailed 3D models. But still it's cool, more space is always a good thing. Now I wonder how long it would take to burn one of those. Considering that I still have to go with slower speeds to reliably burn a CD (which at 700 or so MB takes about an hour), the same must be true for the DVD... Which means, it would probably take a good couple of hours... Dunno about burning 'em on a regular basis, but would definitely make a good way of backing up a HD. Hmmm... 100GB DVD... ponders for a moment I wonder if they're doing something with multiple layers for data storage. And then perhaps changing the angle of the R/W lasers and taking advantage of refraction in a material... My guess - since I'm no optics engineer. That seems like it would work with minor modification to existing DVD system components. Speaking of drivespace, I wonder how much GB Renderosity has. It must be a pretty big number considering the amount of images they host. It would make an interesting site statistic for the curious.

I like this idea as well. Would save some cutting and pasting the link address (since some web based email sites are dumb and port your link rather than open a direct window.)

You may have to go to Edit>Advanced Preferences... And then check the little box where it says Advanced Menu. Then you should get the "full" capability of Wings (this will make the little boxes show up if they aren't there already.) Anyhow, if you'd like the wheel I'm offering it as one of my freestuff items. It's saved in .wings, so you Brycers out there will have to be willing to expose yourself to using Wings3D in order to convert it into a Bryce importable format. ;) Besides, it's a tool worth having in your inventory.Your friendly neighborhood Wings3D nut.

Ahh... The tires... go to make a cylinder and hit the box so you can set the number of sides. (I set it at 30) Then select both ends of the cyl and extrude a few times. Scale it so it's wider and flatter. Rotate on Z axis 90 (using tab.) Then inset the ends a few times. Then bridge. Then select every third row of faces on the curved part, and extrude region normal... Well I could keep going on. But you get the idea. Would you like the wheels and tires available for DL?

This makes me wish I could find a model for the Oldsmobile Aerotech. It set and presumably still has the fastest land speed record for an American built 4-cyl engine car. (It was later fitted and ran with the Aurora v8 engine.) Of course it had a special one of a kind twin turbo version of a Quad4 made of titanium (or is that unobtanium?) that was honed to perfection by Feuling. :) Now all this image needs is some post work with a 2D program, using a bit of strategically placed wave deformation and blurring would simulate the mirage effect and heat coming from engines. Also a little bit stronger specularity couldn't hurt either, being that some objects would sparkle a lot in the harsh desert sun.

Change the camera mode. I like center to selection, so that way the camera revolves around whatever's highlighted. You could use the hand thing like suggested above, but if you do any major movements it tends to skew the picture (in camera and director views.) Moving the image using the scene movement tools on the left side shouldn't skew things like the hand does.

Likewise Wings3D does a nice job too. Extrude a cylinder into the shape you're wanting and run a smoothing or two on it. And if you only have Bryce 4, a fairly dense multireplicate of spheres will still give the same effect as metaball. Of course such dense groupings can sometimes be more a pain then they're worth.

Perhaps they don't want a more common format, because once people hear that they have free models that their bandwidth will get sucked dry. LOL

Thinking the same thing as lsstrout about the pizza and soda. There should at least be some chips or microwave popcorn. Who's watching the movie? Or did they put it on pause and run out of the room?
