I've begun rigging the suit, a more complicated job than for my usual models because the different parts interfere with each other. Even the hatch has two motions to open.
The suit shell opens up for relatively easy entry and exit. Each of these actions are performed with a single parameter dial.

I modeled the interior to resemble many of the kit models, but made it roomier and tailored it to my approach.

The original plastic kit kind of hedged on how the operator fit in the suit with lots of padding hiding his body. More recent kits and kit-bashes speculated on ways arms and legs fit into the suit, but it seems to me, one size fits all for a hard suit wouldn't work very well. I opted for a fairly uncomfortable seated position.

Finishing up a complex accessory. The basic figure will be called Polyphemus, mostly from the scientific name for the Atlantic horseshoe crab, but also for the one-eyed look of the searchlight. There will be an alternate turret version inspired by a kit-bashed plastic model kit that incorporated a Gepard tank turret.

The original kit was for a remote-controlled or autonomous hovercraft, but one of the kit-bashed versions accommodated crew with a driver station. There's also a side hatch into the tank.

The searchlight, antennae, and laser cannon will be adjustable and the hatches will open.
