Thanks Antoonio, I really liked your examples and it's given me a lot of good ideas. (now lets see if I can use these ideas creatively and originally!!)

What a great image! I like this one...and the 15 minutes was well spent! The Dragonfly is a truly magnificent creature, great subject matter and just a little spooky... Also the fastest flying insect on the planet!!

The frame in the top picture was originally part of another piece of rusty machinery that I thought would lend itself to that use (as a frame)I defocussed it a bit to reduce the distraction factor and make it seem to be part of the original image...I guess that worked in your case Bsteph! Thanks everyone...I think (after much debate and consideration) that the sans frame picture actually has a greater impact for me.

Thanks Alpha and Billglaw, I appreciate the feedback. By the way, Alpha your 'one person's opinion' is a very experienced one from what I can see from your work! Loving woodworking and having just discovered the marvels of using a router, I wish you luck with your frame making Billglaw...Happy mitreing!

I like that term "experimenter"! I believe I would like to be thought of as an experimenter too! one can get to do a lot of fun and challenging 'stuff', and if it sometimes doesn't quite gel, then that's all part of the learning process. Having said that, it seems to be very much subjective perception as to what 'gels' or not!!! Big Smile

I use a Ricoh KR-10 with a Pentax-M 1:1.7 50mm lens. The photograph is of an old fuse box, I think, Alpha. Thanks everyone. :)
