Thread: Dedicated Digital's new model | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't think I could do a very good job at that. I need to have a very clear vision of what it is I need to make. And I don't have the foggiest idea what that should look like. Not to mention that this is not allowed by DedicatedDigital. You are not allowed to alter their meshes and distribute them. ScottA

Yes it's poseable but it has some problems. They messed up the rotation orders for the head and neck. Since they want you to get permission every time you want to fix the .cr2's and give them out to the public. I won't be posting anymore updates unless there is a big demand for them. You need to swap the rotation orders for the head and neck on this one. Then set up all of the JP's again. Not a big deal on this one. Not many parts. The tail1 section seems to be off as well. just use the translate dials to move it up a little to look better. I personally deleted the harness from the model before I fixed it. I can always add that if I want later as a prop. ScottA iamsba@aol.com
Thread: Poser 4 Handbook CD is a crap!!! Sorry for all of us | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You're too far along to use that book dunga. I took a look at it last week and although it jumps all over the place with reckles abandon. And contains very little technical information (actually. Some of it is wrong).I do think it's a useful book for people just starting out using Poser. The REAL problem is the $50.00 price tag! I've talked to Shamms about this outrageous pricing and he said he has no control over it. Too bad. It's definately worth $10-$15 dollars. But no more than that. ScottA

How can you decide to go into business in 3D if you don't even know how to use the programs? Seems like putting the horse before the cart to me. ScottA
Thread: Whoo Hoo!!! Homer finally stumbles his way on to the Free Stuff | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Your welcome. I was wondering if people were having trouble downloading it because Fortunecity is using some funky new page for accessing remote files. And the .zip extension has to be put on the file manually after downloading. ScottA iamsba@aol.com

You don't use Poser to make your own clothes anyway. You need a 3d modeling program to do that. ScottA

Thread: How do you remove morph targets? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This isn't an option built into poser that I know of. You need to delete them from the CR2 file. But you can download Morph Manager for free from the utilities section of the FS pages. And that will do it for you quite nicely. It's a handy little program. ScottA

I don't know how comfortable you are editing the CR2's. It's like breathing to me. But you can set the "initValue" in the morph targets section of the CR2 to anything you want. It's normally set at 0. So don't confuse it as an ON, OFF switch. This way you won't increase the file size with extra morph's. ScottA
Thread: I found the Genitals switch!!!!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The hip has two possible targets. One with Genitals and one no Genitals. These are not the Morph targets. Those are just a liitle bit farther down in the CR2 file. I've done some playing around with this already. And apparently. The Program has internal code looking specifically for the blhipnogen.obj name when it encounters the alternate line in a CR2. Thus the Genitals option in the menu. Example: Test#1 Change the pointer to another folder and .obj and save the CR2. Delete the .rsr and start Poser. The new .obj will not pop up. But the genitals will. Even though you told the program to go eleswhere for the no genitals .obj. Test#2 Create a new object. Anything at all. Then name it blhipnogen.obj and put it in any folder you want. Just be sure to put the new folder location in the alternative line of the CR2. Start Poser. and the figure will now replace the hip with that new object you created. What does this mean? I think this is just a hip only trick. That may only be usefull for setting the genitals to not be shown by default if that's what you want. I haven't had the courage to try and paste the alternative lines from the male to the female and make a hermaphrodite! <:-O ScottA A.K.A-Dr.Frankenstein ;-)
Thread: Ahhh! new patch sucks!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well. In this case. I think the bug was me ;-). You can save multiple figures and props to the library using the latest patch after all. You just have to parent or conform them to eachother. I didn't think I had to do that with patch #116. But now I think that's the way it's always been. Check Please <:-o ScottA

Yea. I think you're right jeff. I wanted to get everyone's attention and warn them to save their old patches. And I think I went overboard ;-). Good thing I'm not the president with access to the Nuke Button Huh? ;-) ScottA

Well. Now after trying to install #116 over this one. I still can't save props with a figure to the library. And although I can save clothing that's been applied to the figure in the library again. I still can't save two figures to the library and have it open again with both figures. I'm going to delete and reinstall poser again. Then only use patch #116 and see what happens. I could be wrong about this folks and I don't want to push the panic button too hard. Just hang on to the old patches you have just to be safe. ScottA
