Thread: A Self Portrait (with apologies to Gary Larson) | Forum: Vue
Thank you all for the kind remarks. This was my first-ever post and, since I'm not an artist, I had to go for laughs instead. A couple points: My Poser imports have worked flawlessly since I got Vue. It asked for poser.exe once and that was it. Also, can anyone think of a way to make realistic looking tracks of a person crawling on hands & knees thru the sand? I sure couldn't. Thanks again. Glad you liked the scene.
Thread: Problems with Vue4....HELP! | Forum: Vue
The first thing I would try is disable all OpenGL options, or, if your video card does support OpenGL, check for an updated driver. Don't know about the Poser problem. Mine import fine and I don't have the patch. Good luck.

Thanks all for the kind comments. This was my first post and I'm not good enough to inspire awe, so I went for yuks instead.
Thread: Printing question | Forum: Vue
You'll get a real good idea what to charge after you find out how much the printer is going to charge you. It may not be cost effective unless you feel you can sell many prints. In printing, the big expense is in the initial setup; additional prints aren't that much. Good luck.
Thread: Printing question | Forum: Vue
If you're doing the printing, stick with RGB and make sure your monitor is calibrated properly. If you're using a service bureau, they will tell you how they want the file.

Thread: hmann's 3D World Kit | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you're viewing the actual product page--the one with the "Add to Shopping Cart" icon--the link to leave feedback should be there. I haven't seen the 3d World Kit but GeorgeD's Morph Mountain is great, too. You can make all kinds of stuff, including water and clouds. Though I haven't tried the clouds yet.
Thread: Are the bugs the worked out? | Forum: Carrara
In my opinion, yes. I've had the new version almost since it's been out and have had no problems. All the bugs I used to experience in version 1 are gone.
Thread: A cave for poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There's also GeorgeD's Morph Mountain in the MarketPlace. Just create a deep crater, turn it vertical, and you got a cave. Then you can add another and have ground outside; and another and have mountain; then another and have a stream... and ... on and on....
Thread: Dumb question re: renaming Poser.exe | Forum: Vue
Mike: When you're in Windows, the operating environment won't let you modify certain aspects of certain files. That's why I advised for you to exit Windows completely. This may be moot now, but I need to clarify my earlier message: I'd forgotten that DOS only recognizes 8.3 filenames. So in true DOS your LOGOW.SYS.BMP file would appear as LOGOWS~1.BMP. So the DOS command would look like this: C:WINDOWS>ren logows~1.bmp logow.sys(enter). Also, I think the Windows startup and shut down screens are limited to 256 colors.
Thread: Dumb question re: renaming Poser.exe | Forum: Vue
Mike: you shouldn't have that trouble renaming your file. Are you sure you're doing it right? If all else fails, you could drop to DOS (exit Windows completely), go to the directory containing the file and use the DOS 'ren' command: C:WINDOWS>ren logow.sys.bmp logow.sys(ENTER)
Thread: Dumb question re: renaming Poser.exe | Forum: Vue
I don't know about WinME, but in Win98 (probably the same), you'd lauch Windows Explorer then click on View in the menu bar. At the bottom of the View menu is Folder Options, click that. When the Folder Options dialog box opens, click the View tab at the top of the box. The 5th or 6th option down is a check box that says "Hide file extensions for known file types." Uncheck that box and click the OK button. You should now be able to see all your file extensions. Why Mickeysoft desided to hide file extensions as a default is beyond me. Guess they didn't want to confuse all us stoopid users.
