Thread: Does anyone have these models for Bryce 3d? | Forum: Bryce
Not sure about the peach.... There is an eagle at http://www.mitch3dseite.de/ in the meshes section. Bryce can fake a pretty good rainbow in the skylab.
Thread: Rendering in Poser vs Rendering in Bryce | Forum: Bryce
I am not as yet familiar with Bryce 5 but have had excellent results with Bryce 4. It takes some work to get good results, but I feel they are worth it. To keep it really short and simple, first the imported figure is divided by it's separate materials, either as new groups or as different families. The textures have to be "activated", given alpha channels so that bump and transparancy will work, the colors set to the texture and the values adjusted. I like diffusion around 75%, ambiance around 15% to 20% and just a fuzz of specularity for skin, with a bump value around 5%. Transmaps for hair and lashes and such need the blend transparancy turned off to work properly. The biggest advantages of rendering in bryce, in my opinion, are lights have position as opposed to just direction, reflective surfaces are possible and fairly easy, atmospheric effects of fog, haze, volumes, and the materials lab allows for infinite adjustments to the textures, even combining of textures and selective areas that glow in the dark... There are also some very good tutorials going in to more detail than I can here. Regardless, welcome to the wonderful world of bryce...

Thread: looking for good t-rex monster?anyone... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey Scott, love that t-rex! It does take a few tries to get anything to download off your site, tho... working on a new texture for it, maybe put it in freestuff when I'm done.
Thread: Need help out of the render zzzzzzz monster | Forum: Bryce
Heh, got the same problem here (takes 15 minutes just to render the freakin thumbnail)...I think the solution in my case is a bigger processor. Too bad bryce won't use openGL, that graphics card of mine sould be good for something besides games....scenes considerably more complicated than bryce scenes render on the fly. Now if you happen to have one of these friends/family that spends $10000 plus on upgrading thier computer each year.........

I spoke too soon...looked in poser free stuff, object mesh number 68 i believe, an excellent model of a katana! Downloaded and checked it out, has textures to go with it.

From someone who was a dedicated ninja freak 15 years ago (damn i'm gettin old), all I can see changing would be the sword to something that looks Japanese (and a better mask)... I personally would love to have a good model of a katana, seen a few out there but the ones i downloaded sure wouldn't fool someone who knows what one really looks like. I remember someone posting a suit of samurai armor and acessories they were working on, but that was back last summer...looked quite good.

I seem to have the same problem, or close to it...made a winged figure, wings are considered separate figures, would like to make them one figure so i can load them with the character library instead of just a saved file...each wing is a figure, 3 in all...

Great job! Only thing I would change is the metal material you used for the tower roofs...copper shingles don't stay shiny very long (about a week). Maybe vertigris/oxidized copper, with a scaly bump...great modeling job, wondering just how many objects you got going there....
Thread: some keyboard shortcuts for bryce | Forum: Bryce
thanks for the info....and nice castle. The only one of those I use on a regular basis is ctrl+z, sometimes several times a minute......
