For me, I find the need for more ram outweighs the need for faster ram, considering the price difference. If you have the bucks, go for the faster stuff. Mike, I'd be scared to death of running Vue on a ME station, at least until a few service packs are out. Even Win2k is a little scary. I just installed SP1 for it the other day, and it helped a lot. The hiccups I mentioned were mostly lockups when I opened something, so no lost work. A simple reboot cures it. Win2k is really just NT5, so the stability should be there.

The only hiccups I've seen had nothing to do with Vue. I suspect that Win2000 doesn't like my graphics card. The motherboard is a Tyan, don't recall what model. Not sure what you mean by what type of ram. I still use plain old pc100. Pc133 is better (same price), but that would have limited me to 1.5Gb. Steve

Hey there, Bill. When I first got Vue, I installed it on my single 500Mhz machine and rendered a couple of the sample scenes at fairly low settings. Then I moved the program over to my dual 550 Mhz and rerendered the same samples, at the same settings. I forget the exact numbers, but it was almost twice as fast. I assume the same would be true using high settings, but sometimes I wonder about that. DigReal
