I have been defending Poser because I think it is an excellent program. not the top of the line. I think that if they could implament the CG skin for $195. as an addon to their standard package price, that would be great idea. I have no idea what actual price would actually be.
Untill Poser 7 animation had the smallest porportion of people using that aspect of its capabilities. I suspect that that crowd will grow with Poser 7 with its new animation improvements. I think it would be unfair for the rest of the crowd to pay the extra $195. added on for something they weren't interested in.
I myself use poser 90% of the time for animation purposes. That would be something I would be glad to get as a plug in at that price. Just a thought, and I know anyone that does animation would gladly support if they would be realistic in there demands in all the stuff they want into poser.

Your right, but then look at the difference in the price tag. you can ask for the world, but do you want to pay for it. Cinama and Truespace are different programs that can do pretty much what poser can do, so why use poser.
There is no doubt that Poser can improved in so many areas, as with Every 3D type of program can be improved. But look at the price tag on Truespace's new release. The price tag is about 3 times what I bought Truespace 5 for. Look at Poser 7. About the same price I paid for Poser 4. Look at what you got in Poser 4 and what you can do in Poser 7.
Asking is easy, producing is another matter.

What surprises me, is all the terrible problems that one thinks that Poser has, that they waist there time complaining about it when they can be working with these much better programs and there small price tags. Lets face it, there isn't a program out there, reguardless of the price tag that there isn't someone out there that is going to complain about. Personaly, I just set back and smile.

Wow, all those extra features, sounds great, and just think, for only $10.00. Why in a couple of years we can get rid of all those high end programs.

(...when you start to talk to V3 .... and she answers back !!!!)
That might be, because you may had just made an animation with V3, in Mimic just before going to bed, and when you woke up She answered you in a mans voice, Which scared the heck out of you, because you forgot to change her voice into a females voice.
Of course, I don't want to put words in your mouth!

I do a ton of animation, when your characture is talking durring an animation. After you have used Mimic and you want to change the expression. using an expression durring that speach, Problems arise. My experience is that the mouth wants to hang on with that expression untill the next new expression is entered. Thus when talking ,the mouth doesn't want to close correctly or can close to far the other way. I have to edit the mouth in the keyframes to get them ballanced for the rest of the animation.
The perfect MiMic or Talk Designer is that you can activate the expression you want, (not just brows up and brows down) all your detailed expressions right through those programs. And if you need to correct or tweek them you run them back through the Mimic or Talk Designer Program.
As far as Sydney being a girl or guy. Hey I was studying the detail of the facial movements of the new charactures, at 4 am getting sleep was a priority, but I had to check out the new features in Poser. wether the characture was a guy or girl was the least of my concerns. I wanted first and formost to analize head movements and expressions.
One thing I am sure of. If the Talk Designer comes up a little short at this point. EF will make sure it will meet the standards that it's customers want. I like the fact that you access it within Poser. Reguardlessly. I will buy Poser 7. I think they do a bag up job over all.
Thread: Possum or cartoon possum | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That hit and run possum was probably hit by me. I have to wait a day or so, so that the flavor gets good, and also so the the feller, doesn't come back at me with a bad attatude.

Wait a second. I'll go out and check the street. I can usually find one out there. How do you like him cooked?

First, I like the action in Mimic. What I like most is the control that you can insert with mimic. although I don't think that it timing was up to where it needs to be. The first word of the sentence has always lagging and I had to switch the first letter to better match the word quite often.
EF's talk Designer is to short to judge. there is no way to know how good it is with that short clip. I thought the expressions if you look very closely, show great promise of the new characture, as per the way the face has a natural bending upward in words that would do that. but that doesn't tell you that much about the talk designer. That only speeks to the characture.
Which makes me wonder if it is the Talk Designer or the Person who made the animation in Talk Designer, It was bland. Give me something to sell me on, with a good animator and something with some expression. 1 Example, a person that sees a ghost then get an frightned expression on their face as they slightly turn there head and yells. Henry, come in hear. You won't believe what is stairing me in the face. Then if you have a good product. "Product sold! "
You could have killed two birds with one stone. You would sell Sydney's characture as a must, showing his expression potential, plus, the Talk designer all in one ad. That would take a lot of guess work out of what the product can, and can't do. Not the, do-de-do, Oh hum!
Poser has had a great product, Poser 5 was my biggest disapointment. Not that the product wasn't a good one, It had a lot of great inovative features, but it just had so many bugs in it. I'm will buy Poser 7. I love Poser 6, Although I wasn't happy with the Rigging of James and Jessie, or Jessies perportions. I did like there skin, and especialy liked James face. Both had a very natural look, and great expressions.

Wow, I can't believe all the complaining about the pricing inrelation to the Poser 4 giveaways. Yes it's a super deal for those. I think the complain that I hear is. They got it for nothing and I didn't. I worry what I can control, not what I can't. I hear that a lot these days.
Hey it is your right to complain. But barring any accident that can change A Persons life. Life will go on! I would hate to think that I would let something like this destroy my being happy with what I am able to do with Poser 6. I had bought every poser since version 4.
I am happy every day with the things I can produce with Poser. Try painting your scenes, or Making animations with cells. As long as the price remains in a price that I can afford, I will find a way to buy it. .
Thread: New Motion Capture Data in Poser 7 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't think you are going to see motion capture off of film in any form. First of all you will have to input bones with there dots in the exact location of the characture on the film. Then my big question. To make that possible is, what will hold those bone on the film in place so it can collect the data nessary to make that 3D data work.
I know if they made it so you could put the bones on the film, that then you would be able to move the bones at different intervals to help in an animation. But there are so many inconsistancys to film. like the body comeing at you changing the bone size because of the new perspective thrown at you.
Then after that, You have no way of getting the twist correctly as you will be working with a one dementional source, in a 3D inviroment. I'm sure they are going to put in some nice motion capture data. Hopefully with more difficult type of moves that can save time, like (Pivioting in place Left and right) with natural body movement.
