That is wonderful... as seeing how often I visit SCI-FI ... That is my favorite stopping point on the Net. Congrats!!!
Also you could perhaps do a tut on how to create a sci fi scene? How to "polish" after rendering????

Thread: Lock things to camera? | Forum: Bryce

Actually ithere's two steps...
1: link the object to the camera, rather than the camera to the object. (Use either the 'Attributes" button, to get to the linking tab, or use the actual link icon. Both found in that little set of icons that appears next to any object.)
2: Then switch from the 'Director's view to the camera view, and the movement control ball (just above the render buttons), will move the camera smoothly, and the object stays in the correct position. If you prefer to use the top menu icons, be sure that the camera is selected, before using them.Don't use the linking in the "Edit camera properties" linking...I tested that one myself, and yes the movement goes haywire indeed.
Thanks for the tip... I will put this on my list of Bryce tips. This is good to know.

Am doing a series of spheres and posting them in the gallery here. Already posted the first one.
Sphere 1: Hard at Work.
Thanks for turning me on to CGsphere site. Got some great inspiration and submitted a few only to be shot down by a rating of 5... Guess it's all depends on POV....
I am bummed but not totally... Starting a series of spheroid renders will probably lift me out of the rut...
I'll probably do a story line... NOT!

Thread: water foam for bow of ship | Forum: Bryce
Thanks ... I took a look at the tut and it's really good... Was trying to do some seascape like I used to a long time ago (using oil paint and brush. Really caveperson way. :m_wink: ) Might give it a try.

Enjoy one more fun... And while you're there, you might want to look at some of these other Spheres.. Some are IN the water, as well as out of the water.

Thread: Lock things to camera? | Forum: Bryce
Yes it's possible to have the camera lock on a particular element in a scene. Look at the properties of the camera or camera setting in a particular focus... (right, left, top, bottom, perspective, camera, etc.) I don't know if you're familar with the interface but there is next to the trackball a little triangle, which when clicked drops down. The last item on the menu, :" Edit camera properties". The second tab is "Linking". This is what you want... There are 2 parts to this tab... You want the one that will link to the object in the scene.
Hope this helps... (BTW, I am only speaking with reference to version 5.5)

Thread: Looking for a Menorah Mesh | Forum: Bryce
Quote - Hi,
I'm looking for a free wire menorah mesh to use for a holiday poster in my college office.
Thanks!
If you're in a hurry, check out www.sharecg.com/index.php
They got a good collection of models to choose from. Some free and some for donation. Best check them out. You might also want to invest some time in creating your own menorah. There's satisfaction to be gain when you use something you created with your own mind and hands.

Thread: Metaball File for practice - Bryce5 + | Forum: Bryce
Quote - Metaballs in Bryce can be expensive renderwise, but well worth the final result.
Wish you had warn me before I started doing the render.... I'm in the middle of rendering a picture of jacks and ball. The jacks are metaballs grouped together in a star pattern. Oh well, I'd let you know how it turns out. Probably put it in the gallery here and on CGsphere...
Next up Games ... Chess with a pair of dice and jacks ... Don't ask... But the jacks are metaballs... (again) :m_grin:

Thread: HDRI info & sample...attn:Fran | Forum: Bryce
Quote - @ Fran: Here is a link to the set of HDRI probe files. The Zip is fairly large 100mg, but it's a really nice set. These were created by Keith Brun. He also has the usage terms file in the Zip.
HDRI-probe-FILES (the one I used in the file in question was called kitchen)
Read on.The backpage Link in the Forum header for HDRI's, has the link for HDR Shop software.
You can make your own HDRI files(remember to make them probe files)
I D/L'd version 1, it's Free.
I know my moniker is not Fran although offscreen it is :m_shocked: ... but could I also take a look at these?
These I could add to my growing repertories of Bryce know how.
