You know about fotopages.com? There are people there who have uploaded thousands of pictures. But not necessarily as art: they can be a record of a life. And sometimes a series of a half-dozen pictures can form a greater whole.
Thread: Why aren't all assigned textures visible in "texture shaded" mode? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you've just changed the texture, it can be a caching issue. Poser 5 also seems to get stalled by inconsistencies in the .cr2 -- I've found the image file referenced in two locations -- once in the same place as in a Poser 4 file, and once in a shader-tree section. If those entries differ, I've seen textures vanish.

Just a note -- these images take a while to download for those of us on phone-lines for out Internet access, And with the Renderosity sidebar taking up screen-space they wouldn't want to be any wider. Good pictures. If I knew I was going for digital postwork, I'd not frame so tightly in the camera. Sometimes it can be good if the exposure is enough to capture the difference between sky and horizon, but that depends on the location. It may be my monitor, of course, but getting a little more than the fireworks could greatly improve Nilla's picture. The powerlines might not be too hard to remove. Tedious postwork, perhaps, but they're not unlike scratches.

Fascinating stuff... One question -- how does a displacement map compare with a morph? A morph moves the vertices of an object, and so can't put a bump (such as a scar) in the middle of a facet of a mesh. Right? So a displacement map can produce that sort of small, local, change to a surface, and so could add a lot of detail to a low-polygon object. Have I got that right?

I recall seeing something about differences between bumpmaps and displacement maps -- it's worth trying a Poser 4 bumpmap as a Poser 5 displacement map, and vice versa. Seams in general -- some UV maps are better than others, but I've found that some do suffer from "projection" problems, Projection being used in something of the same sense as a mapmaker might, putting a 3d globe on a 2d map. Patterns get stretched enormously, and one pixel missing on the texturemap becomes a huge gap on the rendered figure.
Thread: Warning for P5 users | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What resources are there on the different features available in different versions of Poser (now including Poser Artist)? I use Poser 5, but I've not used, AFAIK, anything which isn't in Poser 4. On the other hand, I know that Poser 5 adds a lot of extra data to the files it saves, because of shader trees. So if I put something together in Poser 5, how could I find out what could be removed to make a Poser 4, or Poser Artist, file? (I'm probably missing a Save Option here, but I don't want to waste time on something that would be P5 only, unless I needed a feature.)

I picked up one of his specials a few months back; nice stuff, and if I looked more like Vicki I might go to a party dressed like that. I'll recheck the dynamic clothing in P5 (life is hectic at the moment).

I agree on that, Ynsaen, but SR4 definitely has some new bugs in the handling of shader trees. It may be multiple nodes in the wrong place, it may be glitches in how filenames for image files are stored. I was having fromblems with texturemaps. The CorrectReference program seemed to fix things.
Thread: Genre Definitions | Forum: Photography
I can still recall the arguments when the film Apollo XIII was nominated for a Hugo Award... I can also remember when "Glamour" and "Pin-Up" meant much the same, while a "Nude" was supposed to be less clothed and more "artistic". But it does sound as though somebody used a dictionary, rather than looking at photography magazines. That sounds like it comes from one of the older definitions of the word, and it's maybe a bit odd to medern ears,

I shall have to see what the film reveals...

The vignetting is in the original, and down to the size of the len's front element.
