Nope, Kayjay, the download page says Akasha Selene and Cylysce Natural for V2 are both "complete packages", and they do seem (barring the filename glitch) to contain everything. It's the V3 stuff and others that seems to require something else already installed.
Well, the monster 15MB Akasha download finally finished, and the MATs I've manually checked so far seem to be OK... I'll see what Poser thinks of it as soon as I've finished everything else for tonight.
Hmm... the Akasha textures do look very nice... hey, she's got freckles! =)
One last quick question -- can anyone figure out what those "!!!Pre-load" MATs do apart from just whiting out the figure ready for texturing? There's a lot of Poser 5 technobabble in there that means absolutely nothing to me.

Ahah! Another mystery solved, thanks, geoegress!
I've now looked at the doc file that comes with Correct Reference, and it does mention the difference between ":" and "/" as folder separators. I've also come across a lot of pointers in the form of just ":texturename.jpg" but the file is actually buried three or four (or more) levels deep in /Runtime/Textures/ -- presumably this is treated as a "lost pointer; hunt for the file" situation?
It'll take a while to convert all the stuff in my runtime, but if it helps performance, it'll be worth it. I prefer relative to absolute paths whenever I can -- is there any way to set Poser 4.0.3 to use them, or is Correct Reference the only easy(ish) way?

Thanks, Karen, that was the program I've been trying to remember the name of. Got it now, and I'll install it later.
Erm... what counts as a "large" runtime? I've been collecting assorted schtuff for a couple of months now, and the total runtime folder's expanded to...
ARGH!!!
It can't be over 3GB already, can it? Maybe I should defragment soon, as well...

Not all that modern, but there's the Western Gunbelts in the DAZ freestuff archive. A slightly enormous d/l, though, for anyone (like me) on a dialup connection...

I wish I could remember... There was a thread here in the first week of December, where I think Trekkie schtuff ended up being discussed, and someone answered a query I posted with the (long-forgotten)URL of the site with the "tos_dress" on it. If it's any help searching for the thread, I think I mentioned the defunct (or possibly totally changed) 3DGladiators website.

Well, I'm glad everyone (so far) seems to have liked my first outing into Poserdom. The pic's now up in my Gallery page, if I set the upload right.

Ahah... thanks for the tip, Spanki. Didn't know that.
Well, the final (maybe) render has just been posted -- and I finally know now how to attach a pic properly -- so I'm sure you'll all tell me just where I went wrong.

Oops... didn't realise the pic (sized to my desktop) might be a bit big in the standard R'osity window...

OK, I now have most (but for some reason not quite all) objects casting shadows... I've tweaked the lights so the room and contents are properly lit without washing out the tops of the walls... nearly done... =)
No, it's not the fat guy in red -- it's too late for Newton's Birthday, but the lazy slob in the pic hasn't cleared away the tree yet. This will be a New Year's one.
Eesh... when this is over I'll have to hunt out tutorials for properly parenting bits of object to combine into one prop -- I'm getting it done, but I'm sure I'm not doing it the right way...

Many thanks to the good Doctor for the tip -- I'll check that as soon as I get offline. What do these shadowcams do, anyway? Is it covered in one of your tutorials I haven't had time to check out yet?
BTW, that pic is just half the size of the full render. Wait a bit and you'll see who I'm putting in the middle of the scene. =)

Never mind, I figured it out...
Same questions as in the post at the top of the thread, then...

Aargh... my uploaded pic isn't showing up at the top of this thread. Am I supposed to just enter the URL in the "attach file" box below, or what? The file has been uploaded to my website.
I need a holiday... wait, I am on holiday...

Akura, I had exactly the same problem a couple of weeks ago when I ordered (would you believe...) exactly the same thing, the Vicky 2 CD. And I was using my bank debit card which works through Visa. A lot of coincidences there -- has anyone else had problems ordering the Vicky 2 CD using a Visa card?
Someone mentioned spaces in the card number: I've always put the spaces in when I use my card and never had a problem.
I have no idea what the problem was, but I tried a few more times over the next two days until I finally got an "order confirmation" e-mail. All I can advise you to do is keep trying and hope for the best.
