Those files are accessed through Poser itself; you don't need to open them individually. OBJ are the actual 3D meshes; RSR contain the thumbnails for the library items, which include CR2, PZ2, PP2, HR2, FC2, CM2, LT2. Open Poser, and when you look in Figures>People (or whatever), each item you see is the thumbnail depiction for a CR2 file (in P5, the RSR will be 'mined' for a PNG image file when that library folder is first opened by the program). A Face library will be composed of FC2 files, a Prop library will be composed of PP2 files. etc..
If you are trying to open the Xmas tree, it should have come in a zip file that had the correct paths to the libraries, starting with "Runtime." Unzip the file into your Poser 5 directory, tell it to retain subdirectories, and it should all end up in the proper library locations to use. Don't try to open the files from the zip, or individually in Explorer (assuming you're using Windows)
Good luck! It's fun! :-D

I'd be happy to test it, and when you decide to do the same to fit V3 or SP3 clothes to Laura, count me in! :-D BTW, P6 on XP, and P4 on WinME.

I bought these, but haven't really used them, mostly because the damn names of the controls are pretty much useless; they're so long, with common and redundant prefixes, that it's nearly impossible for me to read what each control is actually for, since they get truncated and all that I can see are a long column of nearly-identical and uninformative prefixes.
Has anyone successfully renamed these controls to make them less cryptic and more accessible? I've been considering doing it, but don't know how many internal references I stand a chance of missing and thus rendering unusable (more unusuable than they currently are, I mean ;-) ). They are obviously very capable, and I've seen awesome results from them, but the control names are just needlessly daunting, IMHO.

You don't think Roslin is hot? As mature women go, I think she's pretty good looking; it's only her personality that's less than appealing. Sexy voice, regardless ;).
Now, I'm looking forward to a matching new Cylon raider ... :D

Thought I'd follow up my own thread, since there is now an answer ;-). Arduino now has a Robbie in the R'Osity Free Stuff. What timing! :-)Thread: Old question? Where can I find a Poser model of Robbie the Robot? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

I presume you are looking more for humanoid robots than industrial ones? I'm always looking for inspiration for new projects, so feel free to elaborate. :D

Cool! Not only is it artistic, it's damn good camouflage, too; the actual shape of the Hind is tough to distinguish, and it does a great job of blending with the background in that top photo.

In light of the imagination and popularity of *Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow*, I've created a complete, hi-rez texture set for the DART, which makes it fit in stylistically with the heroic and exciting imagery of the serials, and the retrofuturistic technology of the classic sci-fi novels and pulps. Now the DART is not only *Star Trek*, but also *Flash Gordon* and *Buck Rogers*! I'm also offering this new texture set to celebrate the enormous accomplishments of the Mojave Aerospace team and everyone involved with the Ansari X-Prize in breaking the barriers of space for the common man, and bringing the excitement back to space :-D.Thread: Chinese instruments for Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Pipa + frets - the one in the picture to which rowan_crisp provided a link has 23, which is like those used by 12GB; it also has a drastically shorter neck than the biwa.
Hey, cooler, do you have links for those models? Thanks! :-) (Beat me to the post! Expect my e-mail :-D)

Hey, thanks for the shots and models! My searches have turned up fruitless for existing models, but modeling them might not be so difficult (especially now that the hard ones are done ;-) ). The biwa is a bit different, especially in the style of frets used, but it would be a good starting point for modification.

Poser Thumbnails of Transparent Parts -
When saving a character, prop, pose, or any library item that includes transparency, Poser will not show the part affected at all in the thumbnail (this usually affects hair with a transparency map). To show a thumbnail of the intended result, save the library item in the folder you choose, then go into "Render Options" and choose a new 91x91 window (your regular work window needs to already be a square). Render the image, including the appropriate transparency settings, and then save the final 91x91 image as a PNG file; locate the folder in which your character or prop was saved, and simply overwrite the existing PNG file there. Afterward, your new thumbnail will appear, with any parts that include tranparency rendered correctly, and it will even have the familiar drop shadow :-D.
