LostinSpaceman, I have a golden nugget for you. Turns out the new python script was added. My surprise, but it blends between the full facial expressions.
Now for the gold.
If you look at the Poser 8>Alyson>!Random Face .fc2, you'll see it's basically an empty shell calling a python script.
The current Alyson/Ryanscript is called: randomExpressionAlysonRyan.py and is found here:
Poser 8>Runtime>Python>poserScripts>GeomMods
If "one" were so inclined, "one" could create a copy of the !Random Face .fc2 and rename it to something like "!Random Face Shape .fc2" and then create a renamed variation of the randomExpressionAlysonRyan.py that includes only the specifically named sculpting morphs you want to control. Lastly, edit the new.fc2 "one" created to point at the new pythoin script, and voila, "one" would have a new custom face shape randomizer.

Coop, judging by your avatar at RDNA, nobody asked for a figure that looks like you. ;-)
I no longer have a mohawk, but wish I did. BTW, that was taken the year I turned 50. :-)

LiS - great suggestion - we were planning on including an updated python script driven by the Random Face in the expressions that would ignore the full facial expressions and face sculpting morphs, but it fell through the cracks. The python volunteer author is in my office now, I'll surprise him with this momentarily. :-)
Thread: how do you gm the butt ugly female in Poser 8 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Mike Campau created the artwork for our Poser 8 box cover working with just Alyson's base mesh, an early version of the final texture, and primarily the face room morphs and a few of our face shaping morphs. He used a combination of his own custom trans mapped hair pieces with a few strands of hair. The cover art was rendered using Poser 8's ray tracer and some custom lights sets that Campau has created for his own rendering projects.
As far as differentiating between a 3D character and a 3D figure? These terms are interchangeable everywhere but Poser world. But for clarity here, we consider variants off the male and female base mesh "Figures" to be "Characters"
I've added more detail about the Poser 8 characters' design in this thread:

Hope that helps.

You should also look through the useful README files for the clothing. These describe how superconforming can be used to apply base figure's Full Body Morphs to the conformed clothing items. The README files are found in the folder you installed your Poser 8 content.

Thread: Question for PhilC ref WW in Poser 8... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - !st time using WW. I did the analize fbm but dont know how to convert that to the clothing... is there a full rundown of the version in P8? is that the version that the link is for PhilC?
In chapter 26 of the Poser Reference Manual.pdf, there's a detailed guide to using Wardrobe Wizard in Poser 8. The reference manual is installed in the same folder that your Poser 8 program files are installed in.

Just an observation - this "dummies guide to indirect lighting" thread has turned into anything but. :-)
Thread: Smith Micro's sorry Customer Service | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I spoke at length with customer service this afternoon about this issue. My apologies for not getting on this sooner - this is my first day back in the office after SIGGRAPH.
We did have trouble with overnight ship methods coming from both CP and the Corporate Store – in that all orders appeared to the warehouse as regular ship method, none of the expedited methods were being saved in the order header.
The engineers have since put an email notice in place that accompanies the order when any non-ground method has been chosen so the warehouse can see the shipping method. This went into place last week sometime during the day on Friday and will affect all future orders.
Since this issue was brought to our attention, (after the initial 2 days had passed) the customer service team has been working closely with the shipping department to assure that all orders submitted have been shipped and a tracking number provided. Â There have been cases when the tracking information is not available on the UPS tracking site. This is due to the fact that although the package is ready to be shipped, UPS has not yet scanned the package. It will take approximately 24 hours for the UPS site to be updated with the tracking information once the package has been scanned.
In closing, I’m pleased to report back that the codes issued ARE CORRECT – but just were not active in the UPS system at the time they were provided. The problem with shipping methods has been fixed. We’ve instructed the warehouse to re-ship all express orders from before the fix and we’re issuing refunds for shipping for all customers did not receive the expedited shipping method they chose at the time of purchase.

Thread: Koopa or others.. please read. Still problems with DeltaAddDelta in P8 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Yesterday I thought everything was fine. That it was all caused by the extension (PZ2 instead of pz2) BUTÂ the problem is still there - when we're talking the Poser 8 figures. At least Alyson and I assume Ryan is the same. For now I tried with Alyson.
See, if I load a new fresh V4 into the scene and add a newly made Blacksmith3D morph on her with the DeltaAddDelta method (after fixing the extension of course), everything works fine. But if I try the same on Alyson, absoutely NOTHINGÂ happens.
So theremust be SOMETHINGÂ in the new characters that prevents DeltaAddDelta from working.
Please find out what it is and remove it ^_^ (I REALLYÂ hope it will be possible. Those figures are wonderful to morph but without an easy way of loading the morphs.. well...)
Please email the file you are trying to "add" so we can have a look at it. If you send me a message via the renderosity message system, I'll provide you my email address. It could be the file you are working with, the method you're using to apply it, many variables... Having a file that doesn't work and is repeatable is the best test case for us.
Thread: Anyone at Smith Micro. Help. DeltaAddDelta no longer works in Poser 8! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Trekkiegirl - the incident report you filed will get to us and be logged in the system. Good start. As I said in the other thread - I'll keep a close watch on this and push this through our system.

Thank you guys for posting the ticket in our system. This is an issue I'll follow closely to a resolution.
Thread: Poser 8 Dependent Parameter Editor? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
pjz - looking forward to seeing what you're doing with the dependent parm editor. At SIGGRAPH, I've been demoing driving three lights brightness in a scene by raising the arm of Andy the mannikin. The lights automatically add trans channels, but these can be removed. I figure there'll be a lot of good opportunities for folks that want to build full scenes as PZ3 files with interdepencies for things like a light switch that controls all the lights in the scene, or a button to open a door, close a window, operate other items in the scene that would be a PITA to individually click to move or actuate. I see a market for a 3D control panel as well that could be added to a scene and used to drive various channels.
Deecey was awesome to work with on the manual - we tried to rework it in as many places as possible. I was the brakes on some of the overhaul efforts - we have to get this translated.
She's one of my heroes on this project. We worked weekends, long nights, early mornings to draft up a much better manual than what we had as a starting point. Perfect? Definitely not. But a vast improvement over the past work. I don't think we left a single "heretofor" standing.
A toast to you D!

Thread: A Dummies Guide to Indirect Lighting in Poser 8 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
At some point in the not too distant future, I am going to put together a webinar and try and drag both stewer and bagginsbill into the discussion. We have some kinks to work out to make that happen, but I have a hunch getting them both into an actual Q&A about rendering, lighting and shader nodes would be wicked useful.
As soon as that looks like a reality, I'll start puting the word out.
