If I wanted to do as you say Vilters how do you "clean" your polys?

Yes good idea to composite this but that would require nearly 7 separate renders if I animated them by themselves. The scene I am creating will have movement from all 7 but not exagerated mostly just standing around but definitely moving.
If I could just get the Preview to behave I could start the MAKE MOVIE process and go away for several hours while it did it's thing. tks for the suggestion....

Thanks so much. What exactly do you mean in turning off shading? Are you referring to texture filtering or something like that?
Do transparencies (as in hair props) cause things to be slower too?
I have thought about the invisibility issue too - i.e. turn off what you're not using, etc. or using the wireframe too.
Does it help much to use smaller resolution IMAGE MAPS as in 512x512 vs 1024 x 1024?
And finally, I am using some noise generation on the fabrics to create rough texture. I know that all of this has to contribute to render issues with firefly but don't know to the extent it matter in Preview mode. tks

THanks. Setting the bump at .02 looks good even if the bump image is at 100%. I am going to use this to creae image animations so render time is a huge consideraton too. Thanks for you help as I will continue to mess with this.
I'm not sure how to use ambient occlusion on the material but will look into that....

Another shot...Primarily I'm okay with the green and light purple area. It's the darker body of the shirt that seems to suffer the most from the bump. I am a newbie - tks for your helpWindows 10 - Poser Pro 2012 - 64Bit - 24GB RAM - 4 x 3.40 GHZ processor

Thank you for the quick response. This is a pretty simple setup. I notice that if I lower the value in the bump field everything improves but the trial and error is really taking a long time. Tks againWindows 10 - Poser Pro 2012 - 64Bit - 24GB RAM - 4 x 3.40 GHZ processor
Thread: How can I change / morph the HANDS ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I can't master that tool - the minute I start applying changes the finger tip goes all crazy. I am using the smallest selection and have accumulate turned off with slight better results but I can't seem to select the mesh correctly.
This seems strange to me to have a male character with default long fingernails - seems like that should not be the case. I guess the Poser G2 characters are just not as rugged as the earlier ones...lol
Any other ideas anyone?? I'm surprised I haven't seen this issue brought up anywhere else...

Yes - but it doesn't affect the long fingernails unless I am missing something. Now, if the fingernails themselves were scalable then that would work.
I like using the P4 hands in the Additional figures but I need them to attache properly to the James figure. They even have their own texture map separately from the body. But I would rather stick wth something that is original with James.
I wonder if AM has hand morphs....?

Here are some attachments. I am using Poser 7.0 I am usint the Poser4 render engine and turning off the CAST SHADOWS box. What is weird is that it renders from bottom to top on Poser4 completely in reverse order. But, the image still looks the sames. Light on left side - but both preview and render show light on right side. In Mat Room the light appears on the CORRECT side - you can sell of this in the attachments....Is is thought the light is illuminating the object from INSIDE and the the model is hollow - on one side so that when the light strikes it it illuminated the other side. Thanks for your reply Steve. phil I sent attachments to you.
