I'll still help you if you like. For skirts the grouping should be hip, rThigh, lThigh. Most people don't use the buttocks in skirts, so if you're using a donor it most likely has the groups I listed above. Also, you should load an existing skirt and look at how it's grouped. Usual the hip group is taken all the way to the bottom edge of the skirt. -Mark

I like the freestuff idea also. I just wanted to show another way to do it. Hopefully they will add an animation section to the gallery. -Mark

You can put animation in the gallery by using html to provide a link. See attached.Thread: QuickConform - the easy way to turn your models into conforming clothes | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
Sure, Most likely you didn't name the groups correctly. You can send the shirt to me at mark@digitalcriminals.com and I'll take a look at it. If you don't want to send it just give me an idea of what your group names are and send the QuickConform.ini file from the directory where QuickConform was installed. -Mark

I thought BVH export was standard in Character Studio >since version 2??!! BVH import is. No export, unless I'm really missing something, but I don't think I am. I've been begging the cs developers to include it in cs4, so we'll see what happens. I should receive the demo in about a month (discrete is really slow). -Mark

When you are satisfied with the animation export a BVH > motion file from Max. Max doesn't export BVH. There was a plugin for max3, but they haven't updated it. Maybe CS4 will.

Since I have a dual proc system, I can tell you P4/p5 is not multithreaded. You can always tell because single threaded apps will peak out one processor while not affecting the other. When I render in max it effects both. It's still great having a dual proc system, because while one app is churning on one proc, I can do other things on the other with no noticable system lag (some times it's actually better that apps aren't multithreaded). For most people I recommend a single processor system because it may not be worth the additional expense. -Mark

There are also about 20 pdf tutorials with files on the kaydara.com site. >Can I import my Poser figures if I export them as 3ds, or >other formats? Yes but you will need to rig them. Kaydara has promised a tutorial on how to do this because it's not convered in the manual. They expect that people would rig in lw, maya, or max and then bring the rigged model into mb (I'm not happy about that). You can import the hierachy from a bvh file, use it as a rig, and export the bvh. but this has it's problems too.

Jim, Along the same line, I would suggest that they charge something for the pro-pack external app plugins (max, lw, cinema4d). I know people won't like having to pay for them, but at least then they would have more of an incentive to keep the plugins up-to-date and working. Also, Poser should have a free third-party sdk so plugins can be developed for it( Most 3D apps do). -Mark

ryamka and Ratteler, Please let me know if you are successfull. I just ordered the demo version of cs4, so I may give it a try when I get the software. It would be great to use these models natively in other apps. Thanks. -Mark

If you are successful, please let me know. Are you going to use max 5 bones and the skin modifier? -Mark

Please check it this thread. I think every modeler is covered. I'm not sure what lightwave can do that max can't. I tried it but didn't like it's selection paradigm (max follows the standard windows selection model). You're going to have to try them all for yourself to really know which works best for you. -MarkThread: Whats your opinion of Victoria 3? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
She's a great model. Injection is kind of a pain but if they didn't do that the cr2 would be way too large. Ocham has written a python script that cleans the dials (see the python forum). -Mark

Baz, That's exactly what I mean. If it had that I'd start using it more. If they had written the app in C++ I would take a shot at it, but I don't have time to learn Erlang... -Mark
