Spit: Not everybody got Poser, Photoshop, 3ds max and so on, and not everybody got the knowledge to use them either. It just wouldn't be just(the only word I could find in the dn, fear, fare ,feer, you know what I mean). The winner could easily just import everything and just use the atmosphere and rendering in Vue. Would that be Vue or just? Any artist need to be flexible and use whats avaible. Vue got Boolean, and it works lovely. This isn't about the artist, but what an artist can do with this specific software. :) sorry about any errors:)

"We aren't doing it because it's easy! We're doing it because it can be done!" Depends, if it can be done. ;p.... I don't use the word impossible, since I did what I did with Vue2, but vue is far away from 3ds, Maya, XSI, and so on... Done some renderings in 3ds lately, and the reality is far better then Vue. Sure, you end up with time consuming renders, but the images are stunning. :) A scene is always better then a single object. But always remember that, some people are better at modeling objects then scenes. All the objects that people use in the scenes... :)

Have written it before, and writes it again. It isn't possible to compaire Vue with expensive software. And I can't see the reason why asking for, how do I do this in Vue. If all these goodies is already in hand. And if your people want to make good images with good lightes, get yourself a "photo book". The best way to learn.... :)

Never tried with the atmosphere editor. A mapped box usually works :) If you get to little density, use a box in a box in a box..... You can also create a terrain, export it as dxf, use a modeler to "close" the bottom then use maps. That makes the fog more a "live".

Think you need a can of bugspray ;) MightyPete wrote about a memory cleaning software, when I wrote about this last time. Can't remember wath it was though. Oh by the way, you shouldn't surf and use other software when rendering. It slows down the comp and can cause errors. I always get this problem when rendering some materials, so what do you render? Gebe: It's a bug I tell you, it's a bug. eeeeeeekkk.. ;)

Vue has the problem that it don't always clean up the memory after usage. You can always add more memory but it's going to use all of it anyway. If you render an Image, stop when the memory is full, save image and scene, end vue, wait until memory cleaned up. Start vue, load scene, resume render. Gebe: Try render the free fountain animation, and see what happens.

Sometimes when I get this problem, I can right click the file and use open with, then select vue, and it opens. When I use open inside vue, it don't work. So you could try that.
