Note that the Latest versions of the oldie is Locked by Win 10 so Pick a Prior Version after Install got to Flash settings and turn of automatic Update

Have you considered that it might be due the removal of Flash ? first step was to shut it down but there was no forced removal the removal happen on the one before last mayor Win Updates. I got aware of it the moment some programs did not work correctly any longer. Going into the poser Ui folder you might find an Air folder with a Flash LSMGUIAIR file ! you might find this file also in Poser 12. I am not running Poser 12 so can not check it . but it might be that it still needs a local Flash working. so instead of searching what Win has added try to search what got removed. I reinstalled Flash actually an older version below 10.3 and allot of older Programs worked again like a charm.

Personally I do not mind Updates Upgrades it can be useful for many things. But when looking at the whole story that from a working poser 11.1 it just went into a 11.2 beta with already a broken pyton engine and many other things that gotten removed , that never got out of Beta , just got dropped , this does not show allot of strength . Considering that all started in august 2019 One year and never fixed before Poser 12 Beta came out , after all the release of Poser 12 Beta was almost a half year ago , so we are in the 2ond year of Beta that is not really realistic !

Sure If you are experienced with Poser it is a great thing you can fix the stuff your self that you Purchase, but where are all the Pro's now ?! the ones who made all the great modeling and Pyton scripts !?

Just a simple strategy would of Prevented such disasters. Would of Bondware and Smithmicro worked together and removed the call home in Poser 11.1, 11.2 - 3, and 2014 Game Dew they would of had allot more success and would of kept allot of users over the Globe! But well control fanatics always get what they deserve. They could of left the Call Home on Poser 12 . Users would of gotten trust Creators would of been motivated to make more releases for Poser attracting more customers.

Creators would of had a Working essential Pyton engine for creations and would of also been motivated to learn using poser 12 , but no instead they just excused there moves saying " It was Smith Micro " kicking out allot of valuable Creators and Members " Trying to make em Mouth Dead " .

Good moves would not of shown weakness, it would of shown strength and a will to bring Poser back up on feet.

just checked my updates ... now wondering ... I never got the KB 5000808 update on my machine !!! or I could just not find it :(

Now there is just to Hope that they keep the quality and the Speed the was it was , were not talking about Minutes, about Hours , we talk about seconds with a reasonable result not having a High end machine .

I wonder what has gotten better and faster with visible quality throughout the past 7 years !

Window Security also got Updated ! it slowed down allot of stuff on Win 10 so if a website is accessing big time your Program while running it can cause a strong slowdown, also depending what method is used . There are methods by using CMD to track down the issues. Try shutting down certain new added Win Security features !

This might be the trick to speed back up Poser and if then you know what or who is using up all the resources :)

it was already a known Issue that there was a Loss of Speed in Poser 11.2 after integration of Rendo Store into Poser of about 20% or more so we might just search the error on the wrong Place ! Not to mention the Random Call home and each time you start Poser the New Licence that gets generated. All this stuff is accessing Ports and naturally causing your security to make additional checks . ( Just a Theory )

Guess it will stay beta for over a year :) same did Poser 11.3 it never got out of beta , never got finished ! you might get lucky if Poser 13 Beta comes out before the final release of poser 12 or could be that the final release of 12 will just be 13" .... In the whole Poser history never it happen that there were so many Lies

They also said for over a year on Poser 11.2 up " We are working on it " ... " SM Messed UP " ... " SM Placed the Kill Switch " ... " SM Shut down 11.1 and 2014 Game Dew " Well People are just Naive and hope Dies Last !

you can also turn off the Windows Search in the Services this might speed up your process with large Programs like Poser DS etc.

Like I said Smith micro will send you to Bondware on this Issue and Bondware will tell you to contact Smith micro. but at the end it is Smith micro who is in charge for Poser 11.1 as you have a contract with them Bondware never sold Poser V 11.1 If SM sold your Licence to Bondware without your Knowledge and there would be a Claim then you need to attack SM , SM will have to check the contracts with Bondware and blame each others for whom has responsibility for what . Poser was not a Lease when you bought it from SM so no matter what, you have all the rights to claim what you Payed for Standing under full Costumer Protection.

Honestly , allot of people had and have issues ! more then half for sure, most just dropped Poser in a silent way, allot started off with DS , there at least they can still use most of the Models they Purchased. Allot others like you still try to figure a solution, but they do it without even making Renderosity aware of it ( Not worth it for now as Smith micro blames Bondware and Bondware Smth Micro ) a simple strategic way avoiding trouble. A Rat Tail , Good Creators stopp supporting Poser due incompatibility making good quality meshes that work in Poser ----> Customers have only minor quality meshes they can buy -----> Customers and Creators start using Programs that offer the actual standards. Not even the Flag ship Millennium's are further supported most will cause issues in future development of Poser 12 that is still in construction after a half year.

Normally you note the Marketing Position and interest of a digital Program or File if there is a Hack, in case of Poser 11.2 - 12 there is not further Interest for Coders creating any Medicine ( Not that it would not be Possible ) this already means that these Versions are Ignored ( Out of Interest ) and will Die.

Putting energy here trying to bring something back that they try to crash by force is not worth it! then just take the alternative 2ond PP11.1 solution save your legal acquired Licence and continue using your Purchased Products , it does not bring new Users but at least you are able to use your Investments made throughout the past decades.

If I recall, Poser 11.1 won't work because it has the phone home feature that wants to connect to smithmicro's server which no longer exists.

I think we should get the last version of Poser 11.1 back! 11.2 doesn't work correctly.

there are few ways to get poser 11.1 back ... first would be to ask SM kindly to send you the offline activator or a infinite licenced Poser version. SM had the Offline activator running for a while until Renderosity noticed it and made sure they take it down ! After contacting some Professors on the DukeLaw University it was said that something could be done against it . But if you are not a American Citizen it would be rather hard and also due the Corona these years Possibilities are Limited.

the second option if it fails with Diplomatic solutions you just get a " Core " offline activator that works with your Legal Purchased Licence key reactivating Poser. In case that you get another forced shutdown the Host causing it can be traced :) but I doubt that it would happen!

either way as you Purchased a Licence at the time at SM there is not legal rights to make a forced shutdown , stopping support is not an excuse also it is not a excuse that SM sold your Licence and Information to Bondware so Bondware has no legal rights shutting down what you Purchased at Smith Micro. Would Bondware shut down your SM Poser version then it would be considered as a Hacker attempt. So again I doubt that they take such a risk ! Bondware tries to save Poser and does not want to hit further nails into that coffin.

you can Import your model to Blender, go into edit mode and hit Alt-J now you can click on smooth Vertex. If you want more smoothness on a rather low Obj just subdivide and smooth it again, depending on your mesh if it falls apart when smoothing you will need to "remove doubles" first. after this step just save a new Obj and Import it into poser you now should have a neat and smooth Prop . Note when Hitting Alt-J set the option to Compare UVs avoiding it to get messed up.

This would be an easy Free and fast Fix for your Issues

I am still using Poser 11.1 and there was not any slowdown I guess it is an issue that happen when Bondware was toying around and making there changes to it, integrating renderosity store to the libraries. the moment Bondware got hands on poser they ruined allot of features not to mention the Desaster with Pyton support that you need a third Party app to keep em running . I still have every Poser running since release and they all work like a charm with exception of the Bondware versions ! It is where the Problems really start.

you can turn off the updates in Win 10 by going to services turning it off there ....

Step 1: Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. In the Services window, scroll down and select Windows Update.

Step 2: Right-click and select Properties.

Step 3: Under the General tab > Startup Type, select disabled. That will take care of Windows Updates not being installed on your machine.
