Yikes! To late! But I didnt lose anything. I turned off UAC after taking administrative control on day one. Earlier this year I was finally able to afford a Mac Pro. Never used OS X before, and bought the machine because I could install Windows. Vista came out right about then. Been wrestling with it ever since, and consider (ed) myself a genuine Windoz fan. Now Im seriously going over to Tiger. Plenty of software available, including Poser, Vue, C4D and of course now CS 3. There are also real gems from smaller vendors that put Windows to shame. Best solution I think is both. Theres no seamless path for multiple operating systems yet. Boot Camp runs Windows natively, but currently has a 2GB memory cap (32-bit Home Premium here, but its not supposed to support 64-bit at this point in any case) and of course you have to restart. Parallels is a virtual environment. Convenient but limited, though improving rapidly. Right now Im just glad I have a choice. Vista is cool but I find its continual disruption of my calm making a Makery of me.

This is the point where it's pleasure and pain. You simply need to aquire the knowledge necessary to make an informed decision that will best please your budget, and the advice given here is very good.Â
I ended up buying on eBay, but I had already decided on the machine, and only needed to shop for a good deal (and an auction I felt comfortable with). If you go that route, be patient. Even if you don't buy there, it's useful to watch auctions and see what sort of configurations are selling for in your price range. In this way a good sense of just what to pay and pay attention to will develop, and perhaps a great deal may be found. After loosing three auctions because I refused to pay more, I put in a low bid on a great machine and won.
I went from a Dell 8200 purchased from Dell to a Mac Pro. I don't regret buying either. It was a logical step, and I knew that in the end spending more would be worth it. Don't hesitate to look a bit beyond your budget. You too may fall glassy eyed at feet of the multi-core kingdom!

I was a long time hold out. Now I have to say I'm luvin' it for all of the reasons mentioned above. You just can't beat the deals they throw at you.Â
It can be a real PITA when you're trying to save for a new box. :-)

Good work!
It's easy to create individual morphs, each with their own dial.Â
Choose one morph to transfer and select Create Morphs>Create morphs in the dress. This is the only choice other than the default "Morphs selected are like one body morph".  I should add that I'm using version 1.61, but I would think it's the same in 1.5. The clothing item will be analyzed and upon completion you will see that the new morph has been given the same name as the original. Save the item with this name (convenient) or as you wish, and then proceed to the next morph. Just remember to have only one morph checked at a time. Tailor will need to analyze the clothing item again for each new morph. You can easily check the results in Poser as you go.Â
I usually begin by first adjusting the clothing item with whatever appropriate morphs are available in Poser first, and then set it up the same way in Tailor by selecting those morphs and typing in the determined value. At that point it's usual obvious what's missing. Hopefully it's only a matter of adding a couple of morphs to fix some nagging problem like "Hip Bones" that can't be fixed easily with anything but the right morph.
The Tailor will only work with clothing made for the figure you are morphing from, but where applicable it can really help, especially for finer items which may give WW problems.

I thought EnglishBob had it there. I'm working in The Tailor 1.61 now with a highly morphed A3. She's saved to the characters library without clothing or props attached and imports with no problem into Tailor.
I love WW, but in this case I only want to install a few specific morphs into clothing that was made for Aiko (clothing made for a different character won't work in Tailor). The Tailor lets me do this with excellent results. By installing only the morphs I need individually the original mesh undergoes minimal distortion and of course I can adjust things as needed for a perfect fit.
Trying to install a large number of FBM's as a single morph in Tailor (morphs selected are like one body morph) is where I've had problems. Things often don't look right, and WW seems the better choice in those situations.

Always be certain to have the latest drivers installed for your video card. What you describe is a classic symptom of old drivers with Poser 6.
Have fun!

Dual-Core 2, no question. As you research this more it will become obvious. Forget about what a consumer program such as Poser is said to run best with. No program (or game) will be poorer for having a second processor available for handling the forty odd other things going on in the background. While the Duo Core 2 (and new Xeon chips) will run all 32-bit applications they are of course 64-bit, allowing for huge leaps in memory usage far beyond the 4GB threshold (2GB per application) of 32-bit processors. All applications (and games) which rely on floating point calculations will of course be greatly improved. The Core 2 Duo series use 1033MHz front side buses with 4MB of shared L2 cache per processor, very nifty.Â
The new Mac Pro uses two of the new Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors (up to 3GHz) each with a 1333MHz FSB. Very impressive.

Very interesting and very kind of you offer a tutorial. Sounds like something that would be fun to explore.

Supervised while you cleared out your desk. What insanity. I'm glad you had the guts to share. There can't be a much better reason for being mad as hell in America. I hope one of those Vicki's was giving a one finger wave good-bye. Poly-Mva has helped many. May be worth a look. http://www.polymva.com/

There is a file number limit per folder, something like 200, which may be preventing them from being displayed. Try grouping the poses into logical chunks of a reasonable size in different folders.

Illustrating my own stories (for fun). Agree with GWeb on rendering. Poser does some things very well, but taking scenes into Vue, Carrara or Cinema 4d (thanks to Kuroyume's Interposer) really expands the app.
