I don't think it's a big problem to modify the images. Mind the Copyright sign. If u transform as much as u like and it isn't so close to the original. But u never know... U could: 1)Ask the person from which it came originally. 2)Mention the artist who shot the image. As long as it's for training and non-commercial use, I don't see any problem. For more professional use however I would say: "Take your own!!" But that last thing I would like to hear some reaction from eg. Hoofdcommisaris who would like to help us out on that one (nietwaar hoofd ;-) ). Hope it was helpfull (still: subjective meaning)

Maybe, u could post it in a 3d forum here to have better replys... Still i know that Poser (curious labs indeed) makes those things very nice. But i still need to take some time to play around with that. And www.daz3d.com offers a free beta version i read here... So happy testing :)

maybe a stupid remark, but it might help... hit your brush once on a empty layer. Then rotate it as u want and rearrange it as a new brush. Not the best method maybe, but nice alternative?! :S

be sure to get a new layer beneath the exiting one, and place a color on it... It is because when u take a new document u take transparant as background... Take white or black eg. :-) There are no stupid questions, we are all learning every day!

Actually, why do u need that offfset thing for? And how du u make those textures tile perfectly?

What do u guys actually mean with rendering? Is it when u use a filter on it? And Aprilgem, wasn't the lizard made in a vectorial program such as illustrator? Then those vector images u can scale without having to concern about bad resolutions... Just to understand fully what u mean ;-)

I ment some have the same problem with a none legal version... However I do think it's possible to change these key shortcuts like u say. If it's a legal version don't hesitate to contact adobe itself, otherwise use google ;-)

Isn't that a matter of illegal use of photoshop? Don't know exactly since I use version 7 myself. But I heard from others that normally CS uses the same shortkeys...
