Rockatansky I just browsed your gallery. Had I seen your images I might have aahhh and oohhed and pointed out something I really like about each piece...in my opinion I think your art deserves the ooohs and aahhs. Having said that I tended not to look at other galleries but the Poser gallery and now realized I've lost out on seeing a lot of great artwork. Also not having much skill in the 2D area I did not think I could comment on the art there. I've learned that Poser galleries are very popular. Since I changed my postings to mixed medium ....I certaintly don't get as many viewings or comments (not that they were many to begin with...don't get me wrong I appreciate every comment I get) anyway....yes it's nice to have our work acknowledged and receive comments but it's more important for me to futher my skills then my ego. Maybe what some of us are looking for here is a place for constructive support, a place to learn and better our skills. But what we have at renderosity for the most part is a place of people (to steal geoegress's words) using software for self therapy.

Thank you to everyone that posted a comment on this. I've read everyone of your postings and I take every word to heart. Glad to see many of you feel the same on this topic. I've browsed through all your galleries and you're all very talented artists in your own right. Don't stop rendering, don't stop creating, don't let people's lack there of comments or encouragements stop you from making your art. It is by supporting each other, growing and learning from one another that separate us from the pack of mindless back slappers. See you all around the galleries. :)
Thread: P5 Reflection Node | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you everyone for your suggestions and help. After following your suggestions and the screen shot above by OddDitty I was able to make the reflection node work. I'm going to have to play with the lighting a lot to get the final result I'm looking for but I'm off to a good start. Again thank you so much for the help.

It doesn't show up in the render....I must of render the image about 20 different times and I have followed the tutorials very carefully, checked my settings at all times. I haven't played with the lights though...so I will do that. Thank you for your response.

PhilC has them for download in the free section. Do a search for V3 skull cap and you should find it.

Anyone who denies that this isn't about being popular or part of a clique is in denial because they are already popular and in a clique and don't care what ails the rest of the people because it doesn't apply to them.
Let's be real here people. Don't deny what is. I've seen too many undeserving images get accolades and kudos and seen too many deserving ones not get any. I for one comment on the merit of the art work, not who the person is or what my relationship is to that person. At the same time I don't comment on an image I like when it's already gotten 30-40 comments on it, honestly what can I say that hasn't already been said. It's like walking up to Mel Gibson and telling him "I'm a big fan".
I do art for me, every picture I do has a story behind it and what I post is my best attempt to capture the inspiration. Yeah it would be nice to get comments but knowing that this place is a clique, I don't expect it. I would rather someone leave a comment because they really truly like my art and not just kissing my ass.
I don't ever go into the top 20 either. What's the point when on any given day I can give you the 20 names of people what will be in there.

I agree that this contest thing was handled wrong. You're all entitled to your feelings and opinions. However, damaged has been done...and at some point we'll have to either forgive and move on or leave rosity. I love and hate this site. I love it for the great artwork here that inspire me to be a better artist. I hate it for making me feel like I'm just a number. Some of the things posted are in my opinion more product showcase than art...that's just my opinion. I love the contests because I love to see artist's different interpetation of the contest parameters. I'm an artist at heart...I think, live and breathe it. Like a junkie I begrudingly need this place. Give me a better place and I swear I'll quit rosity!
