On the bad days, she is like a little black hole that you watch your life disappear into, then come out in yellow nuggets resembling fool's gold. The good days, when she's not trying to indirectly kill me, are a blast though. Could be the ease of making a small version of yourself laugh...
Have a baby she said. Its easy she said. :-) Mine's a biter...
LMAO! (<- from someone with no rugrats)

Quote - You're still basically renting to own software you never actually own. Stop paying their fee's and you're stuck. My copy of CS5 however will continue working for the next 10 years if I decide to keep using it, no fees required. In the long run, if you use this software regularly it will end up costing you more, not less. For that annual subscription you're looking at about $600 (and read the fine print, you can't buy just one month of service... its a FULL YEAR or nothing, if you cancel after one month, they still charge you for six months or $300). Even for say just Photoshop, you're looking at a minimum of about $120 ($19.95 x 6 months), which is a little lest than what I paid for my copy of CS5 Ext (I paid $160, bought it at a discount) and I can use it all I want, whenever I want, for as long as I want. You have to keep paying and paying and paying and if you stop, 30 days and your software stops working... period. In two years, you'll have shelled out $480 for photoshop alone, I'll still have only paid $160 once. And you'll still be stuck with a monthly subscription for software you're dependent on. Sure, you get the lastest version, but do you know how much better CS6 was over CS5... why it was so improved a lot of people didn't bother upgrading. Still sound so affordable?
Cloud stuff bascially screws you over, it gives Adobe all the control and leaves you dependent on their whims. Whatever fee they decide to charge for it, whether or not you can afford that. If you're a hobby artist, maybe you're okay with that. If you're a freelance artist who depends on certain software to make your mortgage payment... not so much.
AGREED!!

Quote - Mike, you might take a look at the ShaderWorks Library Manager, it might suit you better than Poser's built-in library.
Cheers.
Hmm, remember seeing it and thought it was for poser 8 and 2010, will see if it was updated, thanks.

Quote - Mike, I will be making videos that show how to use the new Reality Material Editor. Once you get the logic of it, which is rather simple, you will see how easy is to work with it.
I think that it's much simpler than using nodes.
Cheers.
Thanks Paolo, looking forward to it.

Quote - I have no interest / need in poser... By what experienced artists like Mike are saying Studio seems easier to use...
Not harder, just different than DS and the Reality UI is different than what we are used to with DS. I would not suggest getting it just to play with Reality as there is a learning curve like any software. I still have poser 7 installed as it was my fav version and most stable. I hate the library palette in Poser 2012. for me it is slow to load and now that i have been spending more time with it, I find it freezes sometimes to where I have to save the scene and then restart poser, what a pain. I feel those that are die hard poser users have never used DS, since that is how I was

Quote - The Poser environment is a lot different and there are many variables in there. Because of the node-base materials it is a lot harder to provide conversions of materials than the Studio system.
You can say that again, LOL. For the years I used poser the node aspect of the material room is the one thing that never made any sense to me. Pretty sad considering i mastered the cloth room. The slight instances of the node system in the Reality UI are throwing me off a bit, but hopefully I will figure it out. I expected to be cranking out a few renders to support the product for the poser users to see by now, but due to being lost with the new UI and the clumbsyness of Poser after having gotten use to DS, I have yet to produce any

Wow, Reality 3 is an eye opener. I was thinking that coming from Reality 2 much of it would be second nature, but after a couple of days I see I was wrong. I miss the sliders for values and trying to understand the different skin setting values is a nightmare, similar to trying to see what the different SSS nodes did in poser. I am so used to not setting an exact render dimension in poser and just going with the preview size, but now I have to since Reality tells me to, bummer. I also can't get copy and paste to work, probably a setting that is confusing me. I don't usually look at documentation, kind of a hands on person, but I guess it's time to visit the RUG.

Quote - The crossgrade is here: http://preta3d.com/purchase-reality-3-for-poser/
It's just $14.95 for all users of Reality, 1 and 2, and it just requires the usual serial #/order # combo.
Cheers.
Thanks Paolo, downloading now!
