Some battle damage maybe? He looks rought and rugged, but it looks like a brand new suit, nicely pressed and wrinkle free. :grins: Seriously, any way to rought it up a bit? Maybe add a splotch of brown and/or some maroon for atmosphere? Maybe add a slash of transparency for a sword that good to close? I've never made a texture so I don't know if any of that is hard or possible, but that's my take. Looks good by the way. Really good.

I wasn't sure because on the left leg, the splotch of color that marks the leg line on the right leg goes off to fall away from the leg. I really like that "it could go either way" effect. It's pretty smooth. According to how my recent attempts at some portraiture come out I might post them here for some constructive butchering...

... 12 of 10? Kd, but nice photo! The right hand position is interesting though. Was it supposed to be peeking back there?

I could go either way on the couch issue. In looking at (what I can see of) the pants, they look pretty plain. In which case another background may just bring out their plain-ness. With the matte black couch, there's an unexpected black on black contrast - like PunkClown said, shiny vs. matte - that brings out only certain highlights on pants, and certainly accents the features of the top. I kinda like it.

Is it me or are the pants semi transparent? Looking at it, especially the right leg, it's like you can barely percieve the outline of the leg going down to the shoe. Whether or not it is, the effect is pretty awesome in studying the picture. If it is, it's awesome because its so subtle. If not, its awesome because of the illusion (sure to be a selling point on the clothes).

Since you have contact with the photographer, who knows the designer, maybe you could ask. Shoot out an email and see what happens. The nominal fee for using the advice services offered above is the use of the aforementioned product(s) (heretofore referred to as "Texture") in projects where the use of the "Texture" by listed advice giver may be beneficial to said project. :)

Ok, I figured out the rendering problem. On the current computer, I didn't have rights to modify the program files directory. Apparently when creating a render in a separate window, Poser uses a temporary file in its own directory. With proper rights and no changes, the render comes off great. So I'm enlarging the render to create a background. Whenever it's done it will be available at http://engei.tripod.com/ somewhere. I'll have to redo the site to accomodate these little projects, but then I was planning on redoing it anyway!

Little Dragon, Just tried that render suggestion. This time it came out all white instead of all black. I may just need to install that patch. I think I'll redo my home machine and do it then.

Hey Little Dragon, Yep, that was post work. I guess I should have said what program I'm using. It's photoshop. For any interested in how the flame was done: I imported the original image into Photoshop and created a new layer. In the new layer I did an oval selection and filled it with a red/orange. Then I created a second oval selection and deleting it, leaving the streak outlink. Next, I used the smudge tool and went through the entire streak, creating just making it jagged and transparent. I think I also dropped the level to about 80% opacity (opaqueness?). Then I merged down/merged visible. Then I went to filter-render and lighting effects. It's really the lighting effect that gives it that flamelike look, so that may take a little playing with. Maybe I should write a tutorial...

Thanks for the compliment. And the tip! It's rendering now! I was thinking that the problem may be RAM, but I've got almost 200 (196MB to be exact)...

This is completely ISOP models. The samurai, kunoichi, hair (on both), lamps, and most importantly (for the help needed) the room. Anyone ever rendered the room before?
