What a wonderful artist and very sweet person. Her presence and her art will be sorely missed, even by folks like me who barely knew her. She had a major impact on all of us.

I was finally able to get SM's website to let me "recreate" my customer file. I immediately put a ticket in on the 24th. The support person is a bit more than rude.
It is now the 27th and I still do not have a response other than them asking for all of my system information.
No indication of a solution or that they are even researching it.
Just silence.
I am dead in the water with no access to any of my content.

No help for me. I did all that and still get "User not found" trying to log in to the forums.
Same for me... Signed in with my Rendo ID, says I am logged in, then go to the forums and it says I have to log in again, but does not recognize my Rendo login.

I dutifully installed the new updates to Poser Pro 2011 on a mid-2010 iMac...
Now, I have no external runtimes (not even Daz).
I did what I have learned to do the hard way, and saved a libraryprefs file, but when I copy that to the proper folder (hidden on the Mac), when I start Poser it automatically overwrites the file to the default, just showing Poser 11 Content and Downloads.
To top it off, I go to Smith Micros support page, and they tell me that due to changes, I need to "recreate" my support account and "click here" to receive an email with instructions. I do that, enter my email address, but no email ever comes.
So, I can't even tell them about the issues I am experiencing...
Anyone from Smith Micro read these posts?

I have a new problem that popped up after I installed the latest P11 update - I keep getting error messages after I start Poser 11 that say that "such and such" a file does not exist - referring to a previously installed item in an external runtime (on an external hard drive).
Something different (different item I mean) each time I boot P11 up in the error message. I can't keep track of them all or follow up to see why it is not seeing the files.
I run poser on a mid-2010 iMac. Never had this problem with P11 before...
I am also running Poser Pro 11 on a mid-2010 iMac
I get the same error message - usually repeat messages about the same installed product/runtimes. I kept notes and reinstalled those product/runtimes and still get the same error messages.
I also have problems at startup with no library showing up for as long as 10 minutes, and sometimes not at all.
Also, when I add new external runtimes, it will add the first one, but if I try to add another one, the library palette goes blank. When I try to shut down P11 Pro to restart after adding a new runtime, it hangs up and I have to force quit.
I have installed every upgrade and update, and it seems to get a little worse every time.
IMHO, I think SM needs to rethink their entire Poser library setup.

Howy2012 - there is a very useful set of utilities by semidieu at rdna. included is advanced library manager. This is a really nice library manager and you can join a whole lot of external runtimes onto poser all in one hit by selecting a folder full of them. Also you can combine some after eg if you have 3 different external runtimes blue cars, red cars and green cars, you can merge them virtually t see everything in a cars library temporarily. you can right click on a pose to apply partial poses by just choosing a leg, arm foot, hand etc I can't manage without this software. I highly recommend it. the best python scripts ever!!! Love esther
Hey Esther! I do have advanced library manager - I need to get more comfortable with it (really take the time to get to know it).
I guess I am just bitching and moaning about SmithMicro... I find the libraries in both Poser and Daz extremely frustrating (in Daz's case, confusing as well) and slow... and as important as that function is, they seem to give it very little attention. Why not have something that works more like windows explorer?
Anyhow - many thanks for the kind response and the tip!!
Very cool online comic, btw! Nice work!
Best,
Howy

I run Poser 11 Pro on a mid-2010 iMac. When I installed the update, my library palette disappeared as well, and when I relaunched again, it finally came back after about 10 minutes...
On a related note: One thing I continue to hate about all Poser updates is that they don't remind you that it is going to wipe out your libraryprefs file. Luckily, I save them periodically, but there are always some recent things that I have to re-add. A simple message - back up liraryprefs before installing - would save a lot of people grief.
And I also find that when I add a new library folder from an external runtime, I have to relaunch to add a second one (and so on and so on).

I find that I can only add one external runtime at a time - then the library stops responding and I have to restart P11 to get it added. This is on a 64-bit Mac. IMHO, the Library system in Poser (not new with P11) needs to be completely reworked. Not automatically or even easily alphabetized, etc etc ...
