Yep, Poser is great for making characters, but that's about it(at least for me;)). I don't like the rendering quality of Poser(at least when you compare it with Bryce) and I find bryce easier to add the props, scenery etc..

OMG! This is software is GREAT(and above all, free ;)). I can't believe it's so old. This is perfect for creating bryce terrains. Thanks for the tip.

This is pretty far-fetched, but you do have installed the 4.03 patch, haven't you? Also getting the latest drivers for your graphics card could be a good idea. Worth a try, I think.
