Thread: Poser World ???? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm really happy I read this thread!! I JUST (within the hour) subscribed - just for 3 months. Is there any break on renewing the 3 mos or upgrading to a year? I've been sitting here killing time reading the forums impatiently waiting for my key to come in. I noticed this thread and couldn't be happier with my decision after reading the above comments!!
And it IS great to feel there is stuff out there that doesn't make you feel like you're making a POOR "B" (or maybe "C" or "D") movie. Sometimes the props are the inspiration to develop something totally different and in looking over their assortment - there are a LOT!
Thanks guys/girls
Jim

Thread: Ques about UltraFractal | Forum: Fractals
Wow! Thanks Jos. Hehe. You had no intention of me just reading that ONE artile did you? I copied several and explored the site some. I'm interested in knots also. SOMEWHERE I have a lot of knot resources also. Thanks for the help. Some NICE art on that site too! Jim

Thamks to both of you. I'm 58 (retired educator) and have Multiple Sclrosis and just hope I have enough time and energy left in my life to learn at least SOME of what I'd like to learn. It's ALL addictive! I was intrigued from the time I saw the first Apple computer!!! Thanks again. Jim

Thanks Vivian I appreciate your time to answer this dumb question. Must have been tired (or LAZY) when I first looked at it. After I left this message, I explored more - and yes - all the information was there (help & PDF manual - which I think are the same). I used to teach programming (but am not super at math :( - prefer art!) so even the - well I'm not sure what they call it in UF - but the script for development looked familiar. At any rate I saw enough and explored enough (including a lot of sites) to make an easy decision to purchase. SO I DID! I KNEW there had to be more to it. I'm a software junkie but have enjoyed fractals since the first I saw - maybe back in the 80's. There are a lot of free things out there such as Apophysis and others. I very recently bought XenoDreams also but I don't think it gives you the control to write your own formulas exactly like UF but it will create 3D objects to put into my myriad of 3D programs (Lightwave, Cinema 4D, Rhinoceros, Bryce, Vue, Poser, etc. - told you I was a software junkie). The learning curve won't be too bad after learning 3d applications. So thanks again for your reply. hope I can contribute here as well (In time!) Jim
Thread: Totally OT: I'd love to see the SuperBowl | Forum: Bryce
Hehe - Fun watching this thread!! _I'm an American and really prefer Soccer - (What everyone else calls football). I live in the host city (Jacksonville, Florida) - It's been more of a pain for those of us who don't really care much about our "football" - Streets closed downtown and other irritations. I guess I could have made money offering a room for rent - some people rented their houses for TENS of thousands of dollars for the week!! (i PROBABLY COULD HAVE BOUGHT ZBRUSH IF i DID!!! :) ) It's crazy! I watched it for the ads - hoping to see some good CG - Didn't see much. Just my 2 cents to the thread. Jim
Thread: New update 5.05 for V5 is up at e-on :) | Forum: Vue
Thanks Mazak. I guess I should have gone there and searched myself. I don't know if everyone has the same experience, but I find their website AWFUL to navigate. I often can't find places I KNOW are there! I think there is a site map link at the bottom of the pages - but even IT is confusing to me. Maybe it's just me. :( Jim

Thread: How to make HDRI images with Vue? | Forum: Vue
Agiel - Guess I'm really a newb too. I've had Vue 4 for years but really haven't used it - SOO - a newb - I Have Vue 5 ProStudio that I just got and have pre-ordered Vue Infinite. I have LightWave, Poser, and Cinema 4D. I understand what HDRI is and that it's usually made with a good camera taking the same picture at either differenf f-stops or speeds (usually 5-7 pics I think). The pics are then combined so they have a huge range of information. OK, so how can this be possible in VI?? I don't quite understand how it can generate this within the program! Nothing on E-on's site really says - just tht it will. Does anyone know yet? Thanks Jim

Thread: Inkjet VS. Laser | Forum: Bryce
Check out www.cnet.com - There was a recent review of a large format Cannon printer with 8 ink cartridges. The reviewer was an Epson enthusiast but thought this printer was much better (about $400-500 I think). Unfortunately I don't remember the model number :-( Jim
