Quote - Okay, how's this?
Closer but she really needs to be death pale white all over. Well, everywhere exposed. I don't know how the rest is. ;-) Really, really, really white. Think vampires and the undead. Or the very dead except I think they're kinda blue-white.

Quote - First attempt at Gothic. My roommate says the white face isn't white enough. Which I can fix, I was being conservative. But I do have a question for those that want a Goth look. Do you want only the white face, or do you want the body also to be whitish????
From what I've seen both in photos and occasionally here in sunny Hawaii, the formula seems to a deathly pale white with black makeup. Clothing is generally black. Alternatives seem to be purple with black or red with black. I think it's interesting although I haven't yet found a place in my projects to include it.

Thank you very much. :-) That's very kind, and I appreciate it.

**Dunno about kind but I do know about honest. We've talked before on another site although long enough ago you probably don't remember.

Quote - Ha...I told my mother the theories behind my strange eye, and all she said was, "thank goodness, there turned out to be only one of you." (The twin thing is fascinating, in a macabre way.)

Interest in Dawn is obviously not flagging.

I don't think it's going to either, not for a while. Despite a few nay-sayers (2% of any group won't "get the word."), this is a new character developed by some of the Old Masters that both sides can agree and work together on. I suspect both big houses will take a "not invented here" approach until they see how well Dawn is received in the community. With Rendo & RDNA behind her as well as some top names in content creation it will be difficult for them not to take public notice and possibly even do the "me too!" thing in support sometime in the future. The fact that some of those content creators have worked with them in the past may also be an interesting factor.
Quote - My type is messing up.
I don't think anyone takes off points for typos etc. :-)

Quote - You really should give belly dancing a try; it's great exercise, and more fun than simply jogging. The scenery is much nicer, too. ;-)
When I was much, much younger, I did two years of ballet to help my footwork in fencing. I also ran the 100 & 220 yard dash. Later in life, I weighed 175-180 pounds, walked 2-1/2 miles/day to & from work and benched 240. Now I'm heading for a walker due to back, hip & balance issues. My dancing days are long past. Sad because you're right, the scenery is pleasant although what I see here in Hawaii ain't too shabby either. :-)
Edit to correct a typo ... while probably missing a whole lot of other messups in the process.

Yeah, but you're a cute one. ;-)

Quote - Here in Brazil, a woman being raped and then accused to be her fault because she provoked it, specially because of her clothes, is something very real and very common to happen.
This happens in the US as well. What's worse is that about anything can be considered "provocative" There's also a "No means Yes" argument that unfortunately is used all too often as justification.
Quote - Ok, rank over, move along, and thanks for clapping in favor of my existance LOL

Quote - I never have figured out HOW anyone could end up with a pair of eyes, with one half brown. Maybe I was supposed to have true hazel eyes -- but a gene went wonky somewhere. Luckily, unless I have eyes wide open, the brown spot is concealed by my eyelid, thank goodness. :-)
It's because you're special, Jan ... the nice kind of special.
Quote - Thinking on realism, when I was young -- and nobody had cosmetic surgery but the celebrities -- I remember a girl who was so pretty, naturally with no makeup, that if a character were made with a face and figure like hers, she'd be called unbelievable. The rest of her family were just ordinary looking, but this girl was a true beauty. Funny thing -- she dropped out of sight when we were in our twenties. I have no idea what happened to her.
That is a rare beauty indeed. As to what happened ... let's see ... now a wealthy heiress in ... hmmm ... Coral Gables, Florida? :-)
By the way, for a real eye candy treat, come to Hawaii for a few weeks. :-)
Quote - Dawn will have quite a wardrobe, when she makes her debut...what with all these new models and modelers. :-)
Yep, yep. She'll be able to ditch that ratty old string bikini for some real clothes. ;-)

Quote - > Quote - Oh, well. I'm not a content creator anyway, just a lousy dumb stark raving luna ... er, beginner.
Yup for sure, though we all got to start from somewhere and well what I am doing for Dawn is the first major thing I have done for any figure since Vicky4.
Ah, so news of my madness ... er, beginnerness precedes me. :-)
Anyway, I have a very narrow range of projects, two of which will be populated by people from my own past with two people continuing through to the present, my daughter and me. Dawn I think may have a place in one of those two projects. The other's being done completely in DS3A and nothing would be gained by attempting to move her over. While I may have need to modify content (ex: Red Bizon Steam Truck to make it one used in England at least into the 1930s which it very closely resembles), I can probably hammer that out in either Bryce or Hex, both of which I have although know diddly squat about. For everything else, I can manage with Studio's internal bag of tricks plus Poser's Face Room. I won't need to create any content nor do I have any desire to. There are lots of excellent artists who do so. It's just up to me to figure out what I can use.

Quote - I bought it when they had a $99 special.
Heck, if it's on special at that price then I most definitely can't manage it. I'm still counting pennies to see if I can buy Silo. Probably not. Oh, well. I'm not a content creator anyway, just a lousy dumb stark raving luna ... er, beginner.

Quote - > Quote - The universe does not adhere to man's "rules" and, contrary to the belief of some, never has. That includes the supposed rules of heredity, genetics and about anything else that can be made into rules.
You got that right! I've got one and a half blue/gray/green eyes (they change) -- and half of one is hazelnut brown. If somebody made a character with eyes like that, it'd be called unrealistic.
A lady I knew way back when had one eye like your technicolor one and one a deep brown. Another had hazel eyes that would go green now and then. Literally not figuratively.
Quote - Sometimes real life is stranger than fiction! And in the case of my friend and the lady with the beautiful cheekbones, prettier, too. :-)
That's because life doesn't have to follow a plot line. :-)

Quote - > Quote - We have seen in this thread photos of two people who would be considered "unrealistic" if exactly modeled, the ever delightfully lovely AO
Thank you for the compliment! And look, I became Ambient Occlusion again! WEEE! xD
The way you dance (I like belly dancing - as audience not paticipant), you can be anything you like. :-)
Quote - > Quote - and that guy who so resembles the Tazmanian Devil cartoon. (We all remember Taz, rght?)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH Taz! Awesome stuff.
Oh, yeah. Too bad Warner Brothers didn't do more with him.
Quote - > Quote - However, since they don't fit the model of "realistic", they don't exist. (Sorry, dear AO, but you're obviously only a figment of some artist's over-active imagination.)
I'm... a fairy? I can live with that. Hey people, if you believe I exist, clap your hands! ;)

Quote - Well, now I know that the textures I used work in both Poser and Studio, the project I have been working on will be released as a freebie when Dawn appears. With that project you will be able to use the Resource suit to make tshirts, shorts etc. quite easily.
This will give users a basic start until other things appear.
Kewl ... this is an excellent start.

Quote - I love the way she bends, so easy to pose. Her default body is closer to most women I see than Vicki's ever was. Sure there are other things I want too (teeth morphs!) but I can wait. People need to chill, there's too much drama over everything it seems these days :) Anyway, I think she looks smashing with Vicki's dynamic skirt and top (by nikisatez).
I think I want to marry her!

Quote - Speak for yourself Jan, as a DS user I don't want her, and it's not because of that pedo's wet dream that comes with DS, but rather from the massive headache she's going to cause for us, that and the flak Hivewire and the vendors are going to get for the lack of compatible content for the DS version.
First off, if you can't express yourself without profanity then maybe you should not do so at all. This is polite company and even with the disagreements here no one has seen fit to unlesh an f-bomb ... or much of anything else. Am I some kind of prude? No. I'm ex-Navy and live among a bunch of other vets, and know more profanity in several languages than you can imagine BUT there has never been any excuse to use it among gentlefolk like these. None whatsoever. Not from anyone.
Second, you speak for yourself. I'm a DS user and can't wait to get my grubby mitts on her along with all the toys that will be coming. In case you haven't noticed, the Poser vs DS differences have been and are being addressed only your attitude has blinded you to that. Your loss. While other DS users and I are having a blast working with her, you're going to be mumbling in your milk about how horrid Hivewire et al are and how downtrodden you are.
Deal with it, sonnyboy.

Quote - Normally the length of a hand is about the same as the length of the face. Dawn's looks quite short of that. So I think the shortness of her hands is one of the things that's been bothering me in the renders, but also the wrists that are an odd shape.
Hmmm ... my hand only comes up to mid-forehead. I guess I either have small hands or am big-headed.
