Since I have XL7 for only two weeks, I would really apreciate having a C4D-forum here. Cinema deserves it! When Poser Pro Pack supports Cinema, it will even more become a valuable tool for the people here - beeing in between the "middle class" programs and the High End applications like MAX, Maya and so on - and comes (even in company with Bodypaint3D) at lower cost than Lightwave (german prices).

Sparrowheart, thanks for your words on my text. But I have to admit one thing: Writing such letters is a big part of my job. And to "friendly greetings": You have to be carefull that such a letter doesn't sound as a threat, wich you can achieve partly by an ending formula. At my job, we can choose between "friendly greetings" and (german) "Hochachtungsvoll) (translated = "with highest regard"), which didn't seem appropiate in this case. Schlabber: Platt? De schall plattdsch schnacken in Kn? Do hepp we ower annere Utdrke vor, her an de Waterkant! (Sorry, hat aber wahrscheinlich ohnehin keiner verstanden - ich kann "Hamborger Platt" zwar sprechen, aber nicht schreiben...) Ebenso habe ich Sie gebeten, diese Bilder von Ihrer Internetseite zu entfernen. Ich bitte Sie hier letztmalig, diese UMGEHEND zu entfernen. Sollten Sie dieser Bitte nicht bis zum [insert date here] nachgekommen sein, so werde ich gegebenenfalls weitere Schritte (auch rechtliche) gegen Sie in Erwung ziehen. Mit freundlichen Gren, [insert your name here]" Rough translation: Dear Mrs. ....! On your internetsite you are publishing some of my picture. i haven't granted you the right to do so. this I have told you in E-Mails dated .... and ... Also I have asked you to remove them repeatedly. I now ask you to remove them emidietly. Should you not have done so until ..., I will consider further steps (including legal) against you. With friendly greetings I hope, the additional german letters will show if you copy and paste. Maybe this can be of help to you. As Jim Burton said, the resolution you need depends on what you want to do with the scanner. The higher the resolution, the bigger your file. If you want to put your scans out on a normal printer, a scan at 300 dpi gets you a result good enough to avoid the computer origin become obvious. Even most professional printing machines go seldom above 300 dpi, often lower (newspaper print and the like). The high resolutions are only needed for optical printing. If you want to scan for use only on the pc, remember, that most standard graphicsformats use a resolution of 72 or 96 dpi (based on the screen resolution). So, your scans will mostly be between 100 an 600 dpi. You can scan at a higher resolution an might want to reduce the resolution in Photoshop or other software, but I woudn't advice such. There might be more loss of quality then compared to scan at lower resolutions. I use an Epson Perfection 1200 Photo and am very satisfied. it comes at a reasonable price and had won several test in computer-magazines that I read (in 3 test two wins and a second place).
