I'm still in the "Freestuff" state of creating. And I agree about the items in the freestuff that require an item that is in the Marketplace and they don't make it clear before you download it. For the bandwidth problem I'd suggest "ValueWeb". I used to host my website with "ValueWeb". They're pretty good with bandwidth Their standard account gives 10GB of bandwidth and 150MB disk space for about $19 a month. The reason I quit using them was because they didn't have a feature that I needed (MySQL). Sorry about the advertising, but this host has provided a good amount of disk space and bandwidth. But anyway... later all.

Thread: General Poser Poll..please read. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Heres my specs: Celeron 700 Win2000 Pro 128 MB RAM (upgrading soon to maybe a 1.1GHz) Runtime: 2.1 GB DAZ: 372 MB Freestuff: 450 MB (Zipped at ~89% and not installed) Templates: 400 MB All this stuff is regularly used. This puts my entire Poser program at 2.2 GB... Thats all. Geez I thought it was more than that.
Thread: is this what it looks like? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Damn... I looked at that page, and I thought I was running poser... There are just TOO many similarities to be a coincidence! I can see at least 6 hair models that I have used in my images. LOOK AT THE SIMILARITIES!!! I'm going to fire off an email at CL too since some is the plain poser hair. Time to email CL..
Thread: need opinions on comps,os's,and vid cards | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
To my knowledge Poser doesnt support dual processors or those good video cards as it doesn't use Direct3d, or OpenGL (someone correct me if I'm wrong). I like ATI and Nvidia. I too have a Voodoo3 AGP TV card, but I don't use it, good card though. I can't recall the video boards to stay away from at this moment. If you decide to build your own or have it custom built. Make sure you/ they use name brand parts. Abit makes good motherboards also. STAY AWAY FROM INTEGRATED MOTHERBOARDS!!! Usally when one component screws up, the whole board messes up too. Besides some onboard stuff is well, lacking in performance. I agree, for sound stick with Creative. The processors, I recommend AMD Athlon also. Get the fastest processors the motherboard can support. If you can, get some good stuff that can use the DDR RAM... That stuff is FAST! However, I have to disagree with WyckedDreamz's HD recommendation. Maxtor is better in my opinion (Every HD failure I've ever had was a Western Digital. 3 Comps in 1 year). Seagate is good though I have never used many of them. But it's entirely what YOU want. I have read this post and took some suggestions once I build my "Perfect System"... However, what's perfect for others may not be perfect for you. Almost everyone has different requirements for a computer. But anyway. Hope I added some more help for you.
Thread: New Poser Freebie needs hosting. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks, VirtualSite... I intended to say, compared to the rest of the model, this angle sucks. You can't see the way the blade is entirely shaped. or the coils on the bard holding the side blades on. It was rendered in Poser and it will look like this when loaded into a scene. Jeez, it looks better in poser than in rhino.

Thread: Poserworld Subscription | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm also tempted to gt a PW subscription. There seems to be some great stuff there too. I'll agree about the adds and stuff. They are kinda overkill, but bandwidth is expensive. I've noticed anywhere, there are more female items than male items for poser. Oh well just ranting now... Maybe once I get some money I can subscribe...
Thread: I don't usually do this... :-) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Nope no front image here either Win2k, IE-5. Its looking for it in the "My Documents" folder. file:///C:/My%20Documents/FreeStuff/spoils.gif Try replacing the image link to "FreeStuff/spoils.gif" withoust quotes. If it works on your computer, it will work on your site also. I like the layout. Very clean and easy to see.
Thread: Is Poser Royalty Free? What about DAZ or Renderosity Store stuff | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As the license agreement states, but not in exact words. CL grants you royalty-free non-exclusive right to use poser to create, and animate scenes for any purpose wheter personal or commercial. As long as you do not re-distribute the actual model, texture, et whole or in part. For the legally impaired: Yes you can create and sell images as long as you dont sell or distribute the models. DAZ has a similar agreement. As far as Renderosity's freebies/marketplace items are concerned. Read the "readmes" included with the item for its license. If I'm wrong here, somebody correct me. This is what I gathered from the agreements.
Thread: New Poser 4 User....Question About Products From DAZ3D | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Welcome to the Poserforum. I have seen some nice textures here for some DAZ models. You can also look on the site here. THere are many other sites that provide some good textures. For people textures I recommend Happyworld Land, because of the variety. You can also change the colors of the model and/or its parts by going to Render -> Materials in the menu. If your looking for a sword... I'm modeling one in rhino, though it may be awhile before I can give it away. I'm still trying to uv map it. BTW. I have seen equally if/not better stuff here than at DAZ. You can also check the marketplace for some other great stuff. Now that you have poser, We had better see some work from you soon! :)

I never liked the way that Word opens up and saves HTML documents. I had a html page that was about 8Kb loaded it into MS word (because WinME re-done all my editing apps) and the damn program saved all kinds of shit on the page without me even asking me to save. The page grew to 27KB and it still looked the same as the original. It took me forever to delete all the un-necessary
Thread: Conforming cloth | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Or if you're really good you can make or find clothes with "Enhanced Morph Channel" or EMC. EMC allows the clothing to match the morphs. I believe there is a halter top for the P4 female that has EMC..
Thread: Question on poser reinstall :) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Always back up... But be careful where you backup. Do multiple backups if possible (Incoming personal Story) I had lost over 6 Gigs of files, excluding poser to a computer crash. I backed up all of my stuff to a home server. Guess what, BOTH computers crashed and I had to re-format. A CD I made a few months before saved my skin. Partition your HD into 2 partitions or purchase another HD entirely for backup purposes. It's what I do now. I also copied my Windows Installation disk, and created a basic dos boot disk in case I need to re-format. At most I can be back up running within 2 hours with a full format, reinstall of windows. Hope I helped someone. BTW reinstalling poser will not overwrite your addons in the Runtime directoy because only the original poser files were uninstalled leaving everything else (some configs, and addons). This has happened to me too.

There is a program that converts doc files into PDF. I have the demo of it and it's pretty cool. It costs $14. The program is from 602 Software. I use it instead of MS Office for its simplicity. I have povided a link to the info on it. The demo version puts a "602 Print Pack Demo" watermark on the pdf files. Either way its chraper than buying Acrobat. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible.
