Thanks for the ideas AS and Catlin. You both have echoed more of the things I've thought about on things. It almost seems like they're trying to hide the fact they have a magazine. I know they're not LITERALLY trying to, but to not have one mention of it up front besides a contest notice, that's not good. That very well could be a great revenue stream for Renderosity and nothing's being done about it. That's kinda why I started this thread, to hear what all your opinions are, since I know everyone here has great ideas. :) If anyone has anything else, please let me know because I'll forward the ideas to the appropriate folks. MD PS...my buddy has visited here many times and he didn't even know we had a magazine til I told him I joined the team. The magazine should be something where it should seem like the site stems FROM the magazine, and not seem like there's a huge site, and then there's this magazine thrown into the mix. As AgentSmith said, it should be prominent and permanent.

They are currently holding off on subscriptions until they get the new layout of the issues finalized. I can talk to Dee-Marie about it to find out more, but you also may get a quicker response if you threw this same question in the Magazine forum, that way more than one person may get the message before I can get it to her (I'm at work right now...hehe) MD

"How does one subscribe to the magazine, and can you buy back issues??" My point exactly...there's gotta be easier ways to get word out on the magazine. I'm in contact with some folks to try to get some ideas out there on what to do. A friend of mine has been to Renderosity many times and didn't realize they had a magazine until I told him I joined the staff. That was a red flag right there if you ask me. MD

Zhann...thanks for the feedback. I'm interested in what you mean by better publishing, so I can get an idea. :) As for advertising, I really do think they need more forms of reaching out to people. Before I go into any more though I wanna make sure I talk to a couple of others on the mag staff first. But I wanted some feedback in here too so I could present some of these ideas to them. MD

hehehe...I was thinking of getting some pictures outside but they're saying gusts well over 115 MPH in some areas here on the coast so we'll see. Probably it'll average 75 MPH though on the wind...this should be interesting. MD

Looking really good so far...I like the 2nd one because it appears as though the far background is a bit more 'washed out' which brings the eye closer in the image. What you managed to do is something I need to learn HOW to do...somewhat of a depth of field. I like the details everywhere else...it seems as though a couple of the plants have leaves that are a TAD too green...but to be honest, I wouldn't mess with that much unless others noticed it too. Also, I tried putting green on a rock once (one of my first pics in my gallery) and someone told me that moss often doesn't grow on rocks on the top side, what that was supposed to mean I'm not sure, but just a tip someone told me in the past. I like how you layered it on the rock though. Overall, I like the idea of the image...very nice detail once again. But the 2nd one gets my vote for which I like better. MD :)

Thanks Dan...yeah, it sure is crazy everywhere. The Pacific seems to be pretty darn busy too. I think Isabel came from the stuff left over from Fabian. We're all keeping track of it. It's kinda exciting to be honest....been through tornados, but not a hurricane yet. MD

AHHHHHHHH...hey didn't I trademare "MD"? hehe ;) I know what you mean Drac...I'm appreciating this computer finally that it can handle better games and be able to process video faster. My old vid card was a workhorse Diamond Stealth III S540 DirectX 6 card. Of course, enjoy it for now, I prob won't have power for 2 weeks soon if this hurricane keeps making it's way towards us here in Wilmington. Ugh...pack it up for safety. :) BRING IT ON ISABEL! MD
