Thread: P7 works fine for me. Anyone else agree? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have to say its pretty stable. Its my main work horse now instead of P6. Just the fact I can render bigger scenes much faster with higher graphic setting makes it worth the change. I don't use the built in content so maybe some of that has problems. All older scenes load without a hitch, all old characters from v2/m2 on up load fine. I don't use cloth and hair rooms so again those could be buggy and I wouldn't know it.
I do want to add that the duplicate object function is a God send for anyone who makes sets using those set construction kits. Instead of having to load each element over and over you can simply duplicate an element and move it to the next position. Great for setting up sets, halls, tunnels etc. And it appears to save and load just fine. Only issue with it is if you try and duplicate figure that is a child of another figure, it duplicates the entire tree from the parent on down which I think is a bug.

I use it regularly now. It crashed once on me but that was about it and that was with a huge old P6 scene. I don't use the supplied characters, I use v3 and M2. It renders way faster plus it renders much larger scenes. I can render a whole scene with 4 vicky 3s, their clothes, a set, freak and his clothes in firefly without a memory issue.
I'd say its a winner even though its got lots of little bugs and things they didn't fix from P6 (and all the way from P4 cough cough) but those aren't show stopper. All my scripts work in P7 without a hitch.
Its well worth an upgrade just for the sped up renderer and the better memory management. Plus P6 will still open P7 scenes, it'll just tell you its a higher version number. Actually I got P5 to open a P7 scene so its amazingly backward compatible.

Ok I was able to get what I wanted with Input but I have to hard code a 4 in for the highlight_size index which doesn't seem very stable to me since the root node sequence could change.

What's the problem? If women can have huge boobs why men can' have huge penises.
Some enjoy big boobs, other enjoy big penises.Quote - If you create a picture of Nazis standing in front of a swastika, with "KILL ALL JEWS!!"
as a big legend, then that is clearly wrong, and probably also criminal. If you create a picture of ... standing in front of ...., with "KILL ALL MUSLIMS!!"
as a big legend, then that is a front page of some newspaper, and probably also patriotic.
I posted that as sarcasm but to also make a point that the puritans who object to big boobs seem to be silent when the reverse is done to men. I ask if men also deserve protection from sexual exploitation. If the answer is no then there is nothing special about women that allows them protection. If big boobs are wrong then so are massive penises. If one is allowed then all should be allowed.
Why is it when straight men like something its vilified and evil yet when gay men, lesbians and women like something its OK and acceptable? How many lesbians also look at those pics of women with big boobs? Why don't we vilify them for also exploiting women?

Quote - > Quote - "The reality that some people find homosexuality repulsive - does not lead one to a conclusion of the cause for that. I find it highly unlikely that "gay people are icky" is hard coded into the human genome." That is merely one example of one possible reason for prejudice against homosexuals. I'm not at all stating that it's the only reason. Once again, my point was that there are more than one reason for that kind of prejudice - it's not solely socially driven.
i'm not saying it is soley socially driven. i'm saying it's predominently socially driven.
in some parts of the usa a large percentage are anti gay or anti black and not to be so would make you stand out as different. maybe not so much now but it's still there in large numbers.billy
Are people anti-gay because they are phobic or are they anti-gay because PC people demand and pressure them to accept something they may or may not wish to accept? If one is forced to eat brocolli does not one hate brocolli just for that sake? The very term homophobic is a grossly inaccurate and unfair term. Phobias are mental disorders, people who are unrealistically and irrationally afraid of something. Labelling anyone who slightly disagrees or merely does not like something as phobic lays the blame squarely in that person's lap and labels them with a mental disorder. There maybe a tiny, tiny amount of actual homophobia in this country (same as all other countries). The mast majority is merely preference and like or dislike. But any real resistance is coming from forced or pressured resistance. Gays can go into schools to teach their lifestyle but other groups can't? How does that make sense and why would parents not notice this.
The relentless labelling, cognitive dissonace, whole/part fallacies and pressure to accept accept accept accept is what is causing any so called phobia in this country about gays, not the actual lifestyle of being gay. You can't pressure or force people to be your friend. That is the best way to gaurentee people won't be your friend.

So, would a dirigible boobed woman wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt be acceptable, or not?
Well I'm pissed off about all the gay art in which the guys have really huge tally wackers and tons of muscles. That's exploitation and objectifying and men need protection from this. Showing unrealistic huge penises merely turns men into sexual objects for the gratification of others. Also I think Men's Health should be removed from the news stands and put behind the counter with the rest of the smut. What right does a gay man have to pick up a magazine and stare at the poor male model on the cover like he's an object. :tt2:

Quote - 26. Yes the hair still flys away in P7. If you use hair from P4, or P6 runtime and add it to any figure and repose that figure the hair will fly away. Even if it is parented to head.
skee.
Sometimes that's caused by a pose that has hair positioning data in it. I don't think this is a poser bug but just unwanted pose data in a pose file.

When you upgrade you enter the serial number WITH DASHES on their web page. When you get poser 7 you then have to enter the new serial number.
Thread: Perfectly Centered Nudes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That's a rule in comics as well. No family photos (a term I've heard used to describe perfectly centered pics with no camera tilt or interesting angles).
Its especially true when doing action poses. The camera should never be straight. There should be no symetry along the left/right side of the body ie arms should be posed differently, legs should not be the same pose, hips should never be straight, head should be tilted etc.
I've seen some pretty nice renders that are complete snooze fests because they lack composition.

Also you can now make a prop or figure the child of the universe instead of having to make it the child of the ground.

"5. delete button not always working..you have to mess around clickin stuff in your scene til it works"
Yes definitly is broken. I found you click on an object, hit delete and nothing happens then you have to re click on the object for delete to happen. Sadly you can theoretically click on another object and that will get deleted instead.

Yes I use masks all the time. It allows you to put a large texture of just the logo on the suit. Basically you adjust the uv position on the texture and make it no tile. Its also great for adding hires texture parts to the body like high res nipples or lips.
